Mess It Up
Huangcheng, a tavern.
Several young men were indulging themselves, eating and drinking heartily.
Among them, the most striking, handsome young man was An Yi.
Then beside him were Ning Er, Tu Langlang, Han Liang, and Gu Changfeng.
They had just arrived in Huangcheng, dusty and travel-worn, precisely when they were starving.
Currently, the date for the Heavenly Palace Palace Master's marriage contest was approaching.
After some arrangements, the Azure Kite Pavilion decided to send people to participate.
Bai Xiu was left behind.
The surface reason was the need to leave a master to guard the Azure Kite Pavilion's headquarters.
The fundamental reason was that Tang Qingqing had used a bit of poison, and the guy still hadn't woken up.
An Yi had to participate.
He was the strongest, the trump card of the Asura Sect, highly competitive, and if something happened, he could provide support.
Then there were Han Liang and Tu Langlang.
Han Liang was needed as a guide, and besides, his Earth Escape technique did have its uses.
As for Tu Langlang, he was brought along incidentally; his identity was relatively hidden anyway, and no one knew him.
And then there was Ning Er.
This guy confidently claimed to be from the Immortal Sects, familiar with local customs and having a thorough understanding of the place.
Hearing his familiar bragging, An Yi decisively brought Gu Changfeng along as well.
Here, Boss, have a drink!
Ning Er hurriedly picked up a bottle of Erguotou and poured wine for An Yi.
He didn't know what 'Boss' meant, but since Han Liang called him that, he followed suit.
The bottle was already empty, but he still reluctantly brought it to his lips, sucking out the last drops of liquor.
This wine called Erguotou was simply fantastic.
Their Immortal Sects couldn't possibly produce such pure liquor!
Not to mention anything else, using glass as the vessel for the wine—just ask what other wine had that honor!
Moreover, the wine was crystal clear like water, emitting a faint aroma.
In the eyes of a wine lover like Ning Er, this was simply unbelievable.
Gu Changfeng was also a wine lover and particularly liked the Erguotou. He took a small sip, closed his eyes, and savored it: "This wine is nothing less than nectar and jade dew!"
Upon hearing this, Tu Langlang couldn't wait to take a sip, but it was so strong it made him stick his tongue out.
Ning Er's eyes were practically red: "Third Brother! If you don't want it, give it to me!"
"Here you go."
Tu Langlang pushed the cup over.
Ning Er was overjoyed, carefully taking the cup, afraid to spill a single drop.
This whole act left An Yi speechless.
He started calculating in his mind whether he should bring things from the mortal world to sell in the Immortal Sects.
With fools like Ning Er, selling him a bottle of Erguotou for ten taels of gold probably wouldn't be difficult at all.
Ten taels of gold was no small sum; after all, it could pay for ten nights with a top courtesan.
Looking at Gu Changfeng and Ning Er, An Yi suddenly remembered something and couldn't help but ask curiously: "You two sitting together so openly, aren't you afraid someone will recognize your identities?"
Gu Changfeng smiled and said: "Outside of Rong City, how many people in the Immortal Sects know me?
Communication in the Immortal Sects is quite isolated.
It's not like the mortal world, with photos and the internet.
When an online celebrity fights, everyone knows; when they break up, everyone knows; when they get back together, everyone knows.
For many people in the Immortal Sects, they are only known by reputation, never seen in person."
"Well, if it isn't Young Master Gu! What are you doing here?"
As he spoke, a voice tinged with mockery came through.
Gu Changfeng's face darkened.
He had just finished saying that!
In the tavern, a man, followed by two young women, slowly walked over.
His gaze fixed on Gu Changfeng, a smile on his face.
"I thought you said no one knew you?!" An Yi said with a dark expression.
Gu Changfeng showed a look of helplessness on his forehead: "This guy is an exception."
Their whole group, eating and drinking lavishly in the tavern, was truly conspicuous. And so, they caught the attention of someone with an agenda!
An Yi raised an eyebrow slightly, vaguely sensing something was off, and so retreated behind the others.
The man speaking to Gu Changfeng had heavy eye bags, a pale complexion, his clothes not properly worn, half-baring his chest—the very image of a pleasure-seeking playboy.
This person was Hua Fengyu, grandson of the Great Elder of the Ten Thousand Flowers Sect.
"Gu Changfeng, I heard your woman was stolen, tsk tsk, how tragic!"
Hua Fengyu revealed a wicked smile and said slowly: "What, did you get so broken-hearted after losing your woman that you came to join the marriage contest?"
Han Liang put down the flatbread in his hand and reached for his spear.
Tu Langlang also wiped his mouth, ready for a fight.
"Boss, should we make a move?"
Ning Er, gripping his broadsword, spoke up, but when he looked back, An Yi was gone.
"Huh? Where's the Boss?"
Ning Er was completely baffled.
Gu Changfeng took a sip of wine, curled his lip and said: "Don't panic, everyone, this guy is a friend of mine."
"Ahaha, so it's a friend! Please, have a seat."
An Yi, appearing from who-knows-where, laughed heartily and invited one of the young women beside Hua Fengyu to sit down.
Hua Fengyu said leisurely: "And this is..."
By now, An Yi had already put on the Asura Sect mask, transforming into the appearance of another person.
This person's appearance was quite handsome, with a slender build, and a hint of coldness between his brows.
Therefore, this current appearance, paired with his cheerful demeanor, felt somewhat incongruous.
Han Liang raised an eyebrow slightly; of course he knew this was the Boss.
Because An Yi was currently in the guise of Lin Chen!
"I am Lin Chen, a nobody, not worth mentioning!" An Yi said with a smile.
Gu Changfeng and Tu Langlang, noticing Han Liang's meaningful glances, immediately understood something.
Only Ning Er remained, looking around blankly for the Boss's figure.
"By the way, are you really here for the Palace Master?" Hua Fengyu asked lightly, raising an eyebrow.
"Indeed. Why, is that strange?" An Yi said.
Hua Fengyu waved his hand, and the two women in white, one on each side, began massaging his shoulders. He said leisurely: "It's not so much strange as it is normal. I'm also here for the marriage contest. I estimate the participants will likely number in the thousands."
"That many!"
Gu Changfeng raised an eyebrow slightly.
Hua Fengyu said leisurely: "That's just a rough estimate. This marriage contest is no simple affair; it's a mixed bag. You don't really think all these people are just coveting the Heavenly Palace Palace Master's beauty, do you?"
Ning Er scratched his head, curious: "Then why did they all come!"
"Gaining the Heavenly Palace Palace Master's approval will be very difficult."
Gu Changfeng's eyes turned sharp as he said leisurely: "It's quite obvious. The Heavenly Palace Palace Master's marriage contest is for the sake of a powerful alliance between major forces. Her intention is the entire Immortal Sects."
Hearing this, everyone except Ning Er understood the underlying principle.
The Heavenly Palace's strength had always been number one in the Immortal Sects!
But for the current Heavenly Palace to dominate the Immortal Sects alone was still somewhat wishful thinking.
This so-called marriage contest was already blatantly putting its purpose on display.
Han Liang, holding his spear, said angrily: "So this marriage contest is clearly about finding a partner to annex the entire Immortal Sects. Damn capitalists! Once they unite, it'll be time to start carving up the other unfortunate sects."
Hua Fengyu narrowed his eyes: "I don't quite understand what you said, but that's roughly the meaning."
Tu Langlang spoke up: "Boss, what do we do next?"
An Yi revealed a strategizing expression and said leisurely: "Simple. We ruin it!"
