Destined Child Xiao Ye
What’s wrong with the Tianyin Spiritual Vein?
An Yi couldn’t help but ask, noticing the Old Madam’s troubled expression.
“Everyone else, please leave first. I have some questions for An Yi,” the Old Madam said in a stern voice.
Bai Xiu and the others exchanged doubtful looks but left. The Old Madam was usually calm and unshakable; it was rare to see her so flustered.
Once everyone had left, the hall grew quiet and empty.
The Old Madam turned to An Yi and asked seriously, “Not many know about the Tianyin Spiritual Vein. Where did you hear this news?”
An Yi hesitated for a moment but decided to speak up, “My girlfriend has this type of vein.”
Tianyin Spiritual Vein... Tianyin Spiritual Vein...
The Old Madam murmured for a long while, worry etched deep into the wrinkles of her face. Then she slowly spoke, “My name is Bai Chenxiang. Sixty years ago, I was from the Immortal Sect’s small world.”
“Immortal Sect’s small world?” An Yi raised an eyebrow.
“The same place Shen Muxuan is from!” he thought to himself.
The Old Madam nodded, “The Immortal Sect’s small world is a secluded dimension. Among the martial artists of the Great Xia realm, it’s not exactly a secret.”
An Yi pressed further, “What about the Tianyin Spiritual Vein?”
The Old Madam sighed, “There’s a prophecy in the Immortal Sect’s small world: the birth of the next Tianyin Spiritual Vein will bring a great calamity.”
“Calamity? A prophecy?” An Yi pondered, shaking his head slightly.
“It’s just a prophecy,” he thought. “He believed in it the least of all.”
“The Tianyin Spiritual Vein has appeared three times in the records. One of those was Immortal Yaochi, who founded the Immortal Sect’s small world,” the Old Madam said seriously.
“The Tianyin Spiritual Vein is said to appear once every hundred years. Those born with it possess immense spiritual power from birth, almost reaching the peak without training.”
“But at the same time, because of that overwhelming power, their lifespan is always a major issue.”
An Yi mused, “But what does this have to do with the prophecy?”
“The prophecy was made by Master Jinguang. He foretold three events. Two have already come true within a hundred years of his death. The third is this prophecy about the Tianyin Spiritual Vein,” the Old Madam sighed and shook her head.
After hearing all this, An Yi finally understood.
For the people of the Immortal Sect’s small world, the Tianyin Spiritual Vein was a symbol of disaster.
But he didn’t care about that!
An Yi asked, “Old Madam Bai, do you know any way to treat the Tianyin Spiritual Vein?”
“My knowledge of treating the Tianyin Spiritual Vein is very limited,” the Old Madam sighed. “Besides, my eyes are no longer good. I’m afraid I can’t help.”
“Your eyes?” An Yi was curious. To him, the Old Madam’s eyes looked perfectly fine.
“In the past, I was called the Medical Immortal because of the Bai family’s unique ‘Pupil Vision’ ability. But after I became connected to the old man and wanted to leave the Immortal Sect, the family head stripped me of this power. Now, I’m not even as capable as an ordinary doctor,” the Old Madam said apologetically.
That was a wound deep in her heart.
An Yi sighed softly and asked another question, “Old Madam, how can one travel to the Immortal Sect’s small world?”
The Old Madam pondered, “I do have a way, but it won’t be possible until next month.”
The Imperial Capital, a quaint coffee shop on a bustling street.
“Xiao Ye, two lattes at table 37!” the manager’s gentle voice called out.
“I’m coming.”
A young man dressed in a waiter’s uniform, handsome and neat, was tidying up the tables while speaking softly.
The boy’s name was Xiao Ye. He looked no older than twenty—tall and slender, with delicate, striking features and fair skin. A gentle smile often played at the corners of his lips.
What set him apart, however, was the thick black blindfold covering his eyes.
Anyone with a keen eye could tell—he was blind.
Yet, this didn’t seem to hinder his movements in the slightest.
Xiao Ye carefully carried a tray of coffee, gracefully maneuvering around the chairs with steady steps. He approached table number 37, reached out, and gently set down the coffee, smiling warmly at the young couple seated there. “Here’s your coffee. Please enjoy.”
“Wow, his voice is so gentle,” the girl said, holding her face in admiration.
Clean-cut and handsome, he had that warm aura that was hard for any girl to resist.
The bespectacled boy sitting beside her looked a bit jealous and waved his hand dismissively at Xiao Ye. “Hey, are you really blind? What if you bring the wrong coffee?”
The girl scolded him, “Don’t be rude!”
Xiao Ye smiled softly. “It’s alright. I can tell by the aroma of the coffee. Wishing you a pleasant day.”
As he spoke, Xiao Ye was already walking away with the tray.
The girl, starry-eyed, held her face again. “But he’s really handsome, and so kind too.”
“What’s the use of being handsome? He’s just a blind waiter,” the boy sneered.
“Shut up. Let’s break up. I’m done with your rude mouth! I’m the blind one here, falling for a guy like you!”
“No, Mei Mei, please listen to me—”
The store manager, Zhang Ting, smiled warmly as Xiao Ye returned. “How are you settling in lately?”
“I really like this job,” Xiao Ye replied with a gentle laugh.
Zhang Ting chuckled. “We really picked the right person. There are so many girls in the capital, and they all love a handsome, warm guy like you. The shop’s popularity has definitely gone up.”
Xiao Ye had been working here for a month now.
At first, everyone thought a blind person wouldn’t be able to handle the job.
But unexpectedly, wearing a blindfold didn’t affect him at all. In fact, he performed even better than others.
Xiao Ye continued tidying the tables.
At that moment, a quarrel broke out on a street about a mile away.
Xiao Ye’s ears twitched slightly, a hint of curiosity flashing in his expression.
He leaned toward Zhang Ting and said quietly, “Manager, I might not be able to come this afternoon. Something’s come up.”
Zhang Ting smiled generously. “No problem, go ahead.”
“Didn’t you say you wouldn’t wear black stockings anymore?” Ziyue asked, fuming.
An Yi glanced over. “Yeah, white stockings suit you better. All girls wear them. There’s this thing called ultraviolet light—if you don’t wear stockings, your legs will turn bow-legged.”
“That’s a lie! Why isn’t that girl wearing any?” Ziyue pointed at a girl walking down the street.
An Yi replied coolly, “She’s ugly, so she doesn’t care about bow legs.”
Ziyue was speechless.
It had to be said—Ziyue, this little girl, really did look adorable in white stockings. She was cute and innocent-looking, but when angry, she was fierce in a charming way.
On the street, passersby looked at the siblings with puzzled expressions.
They were speaking in some strange language, jabbering away with no one understanding a word.
Ziyue said with a hint of grievance, "You’re just lying to me, using me to satisfy your twisted whims!"
"That's slander," An Yi said, covering Ziyue’s mouth, his expression turning serious. "Wait, someone’s coming."
Wailing softly, Ziyue’s eyes darted around cautiously.
"These aren’t just ordinary people!"
"Hello," a boy greeted them with a smile. He carried a white cane for the visually impaired and wore a waiter’s suit.
An Yi raised an eyebrow.
"Are you kidding me? This kid’s Destiny Value is 95!"
"Damn, a new Chosen One!"
Xiao Ye didn’t hear their replies, so he spoke again, using the ancient continent’s language: "Hello."
Upon hearing the familiar dialect, Ziyue broke free from An Yi’s grip, overwhelmed with excitement and barely able to speak clearly: "You... you understand what we’re saying?"
Xiao Ye nodded.
By contrast, An Yi remained much calmer.
He stared at Xiao Ye intently and said in a low voice, "The Tongtian Tower Prison History Clan?"
