SSS-Level Killer - Gabriel
Ah!
A woman's piercing scream echoed through the air.
Then, a venomous thorn covered in spikes pierced through her heart, lifting her entire body into the air.
Blood splattered everywhere, scattering into a rain of dismembered flesh!
Drawn by the commotion outside, Qin Yao quietly cracked open the door and caught sight of the horrific scene. She immediately retreated into the room, holding her breath in terror.
The girl who had just died was the heiress of Dongkai Real Estate! How could they kill her so brazenly without fearing retaliation from her family?
Rip!
The woman's body instantly withered into a desiccated corpse.
Every drop of blood had been drained.
Ah!
Two curious girls who had just stepped outside screamed at the sight, lifting their skirts as they frantically tried to flee.
Idiots!
Qin Yao, leaning against the door, narrowed her eyes.
Those two girls wouldn’t survive!
The creeping thorns showed no mercy, chasing after them and ensnaring both in an instant.
Blood sprayed!
In moments, they too shriveled into dried husks.
This time, Qin Yao caught a glimpse of the attacker—a grotesque, thorn-covered humanoid creature.
She couldn’t just wait to die.
She had to escape!
Keeping her composure, Qin Yao seized the moment while the creature devoured the corpses, quietly slipping away with her back turned.
The two girls, now withered husks, still clung to the last traces of life. Their weak, gasping voices called out to Qin Yao: "Save... us..."
Rip!
Their bodies shattered into pieces.
"I’m sorry... I can’t."
Gritting her teeth, Qin Yao broke into a sprint.
Hiding here would only delay the inevitable.
As soon as she burst into the grand hall, panting heavily, her beautiful eyes widened in shock.
The vast space was already littered with corpses.
"So this is where everyone went. No wonder the rooms were empty."
The thorn-covered monster slowly emerged behind Qin Yao, its spiked tendrils lunging toward her.
At the last possible second, Qin Yao tapped into her survival instincts, rolling forward to evade the attack.
But the barbed thorns still grazed her arm.
Instantly, blood soaked through her sleeve.
Clenching her teeth, Qin Yao pressed a hand to the wound, refusing to make a sound as she glared defiantly at the monster.
"Kekeke! Die!"
The creature let out a cruel laugh.
Blood sprayed in all directions!
A spiked arm thudded to the ground.
"Wha—what...?"
Before the monster could react—
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Several sharp whistles cut through the air.
Three streaks of cyan wind slashed through the creature, reducing it to splinters.
Only then did Qin Yao’s tense expression soften slightly. "You finally showed up!"
"Sorry."
Lin Chen stepped forward, swirling wind energy gathered in his palm. His brows furrowed with anger as he saw Qin Yao’s injured arm.
"It’s fine, just a scratch."
Qin Yao quickly raised her arm, forcing a reassuring smile.
"We need to move. Now."
Lin Chen’s voice was icy. His clothes were stained with blood, evidence of the brutal fight he’d endured to get here.
Just then, another thorn-covered monster barged in.
Lin Chen gripped his Lieyun Staff, ready to strike—
But before he could act, the creature’s body suddenly split apart.
From behind it, a man with a buzz cut strode forward, twirling a short blade.
"Lin Chen... long time no see."
Butcher grinned, his smile dripping with malice.
The moment she saw him, Qin Yao’s body trembled, her face paling with terror.
She could never forget that night—the agony of her arm being impaled, the bomb strapped to her body...
Lin Chen’s gaze turned glacial as wind energy coiled around his weapon.
To him now, Butcher was nothing more than a minor nuisance.
"Butcher, is this the brat who hurt you?"
A towering figure emerged behind Butcher, his voice deep and accented in English.
The man stood at least eight feet tall, with curly brown hair, sunken eyes, and dark, leathery skin. His cold, emotionless brown eyes held no mercy.
In his grip was a massive, serrated blade.
The moment he appeared, Lin Chen’s expression hardened, his eyes flashing with cyan light.
Strong.
Even more oppressive than the Black Crocodile Ancestor he’d faced in Hong Kong.
"Butcher, is this the one?"
The giant took a step forward, his voice rumbling.
Butcher nodded, his face twisted with resentment. "Yes, Lord Gabriel. This time, I’ll have my revenge!"
This man was none other than Gabriel—one of the twelve commanders of the Heaven Organization, an SSS-ranked assassin.
Gabriel hefted his serrated blade, his aura flaring as he growled at Butcher.
"Step back. You’re no match for him."
"An Yi, how’s the girl I picked for you? Pretty, huh?"
Hongtian wagged his tail proudly, clearly fishing for praise.
He hadn’t forgotten—this kid still had a third-tier spirit core on him. That thing was a treasure!
Trading a girl for it? Totally worth it.
An Yi shot the mutt a sidelong glance but ignored him, instead placing a hand on the cat-eared girl Ziyue’s arm.
Who would’ve thought this catgirl would end up in his hands after all?
"She’s poisoned."
An Yi frowned, lifting Ziyue onto Hongtian’s back. "I’ll treat her later. Right now, we’ve got people to save."
"Save who?" Fang Jueming asked.
An Yi replied flatly, "Your two future stepmothers."
Fang Jueming: "..."
Yan Zhi had vanished the moment she stepped out that morning.
The room next door belonged to Qin Yao—close enough that the mix-up was understandable.
But when An Yi checked earlier, Qin Yao was already gone.
"Where’s the Wolf Immortal?!"
A burly man wielding a spiked club stomped into the hall, his voice booming.
By now, the ship’s corridors were crawling with monsters that had finished slaughtering the humans inside.
Hongtian stepped forward, puffing out his chest. "I ate him!"
Boom!
The club came crashing down.
Hongtian dodged with a nimble sidestep.
"That all you got?"
He smirked arrogantly.
Crash!
The club’s momentum carried through, smashing into the ship’s bow.
A chunk of the vessel splintered apart.
The sheer force was terrifying.
Hongtian’s tail tucked between his legs as he snatched up Ziyue and bolted like lightning. "I’ll protect the girl—you two handle the rest!"
"What a damn coward!"
An Yi chuckled, eyeing the horde of grotesque monsters closing in. "Xiao Ming, I don’t think I’ve taught you much yet, have I?"
Fang Jueming nodded firmly. "No!"
An Yi cleared his throat, a smirk playing on his lips. "Then watch closely. I’m about to show you a movement technique!"
This was the first time he’d used spiritual energy since restoring his meridians.
Honestly, Earth’s spiritual energy was too thin.
Firing off a couple of fireballs was pointless—unless Hongtian needed a light for his cigarette.
In a flash, An Yi lunged forward.
His movements were ghostly, weaving effortlessly through the monsters.
The technique didn’t require much energy, so he could manage about half its full power.
The creatures snapped and clawed at him, but not a single one touched his clothes.
Wreathed in a dark aura, An Yi’s figure became increasingly elusive. By the time he returned to Fang Jueming’s side, four monsters already lay dead.
The crimson Soulreaver Dagger in his hand remained pristine, without a trace of blood.
The club-wielding brute hesitated, his expression tense. He chose to wait and watch.
As the deputy general of the Crimson Owl Demon Hall, his strength was on par with the Wolf Immortal.
If this kid could kill the Wolf Immortal, he could definitely kill him too.
"Got it?"
An Yi wiped his dagger and asked calmly.
Since this kid could wield golden spiritual power, theoretically, he could learn this footwork technique.
Fang Jueming closed his eyes, then opened them and said seriously, "I've got it!"
"Not bad!"
An Yi nodded. "Try recalling it again?"
Fang Jueming thought hard, his expression turning awkward. "I've already forgotten half of it."
An Yi patiently said, "Think again."
Fang Jueming: "I... I've forgotten most of it now."
An Yi: "And now?"
Fang Jueming lowered his head in shame. "Forgotten all of it."
"Perfect!"
Instead of scolding him, An Yi showed a hint of approval.
Fang Jueming looked at him in surprise.
An Yi grinned. "Haven’t used it in a while—I taught it wrong just now. Let’s start over!"
Fang Jueming: "..."
