She Won't Make a Move Against Me
"You're eyeing the pot while eating from the bowl. If Boss Nie finds out, he’ll kill you."
Shirley whispered softly into An Yi’s ear.
Her delicate body gradually pressed closer to him.
Cupping his face, she smiled seductively and said, "But I admire your bravery. Would you dare to defy conventions and love me?"
"I—"
An Yi gulped.
How could this be happening?!
Was she actually inviting him?!
What should he do?!
Her peach-blossom eyes, glistening like water, held an uncanny allure as they fixed on him.
The fragrance around them grew more intoxicating.
Thud!
An Yi’s body stiffened before collapsing to the ground, unconscious.
"Hmph, what a lustful fool. That silly girl Qinglan has terrible taste."
Shirley looked down at the unconscious An Yi with disdain.
Normally, she might have let him take some liberties—letting him grope her wouldn’t have mattered.
But now, she had far more important matters to attend to. There was no time to waste here.
The warehouse backyard.
Shirley stepped out, her high heels clicking against the ground.
The night sky glittered with stars—a perfect evening.
A smile curled on her lips. Finally, she could drop the act.
"Where do you think you're going in the middle of the night?"
A deep, weathered voice sounded beside her.
Shirley froze, her blood turning to ice.
There was no mistaking it.
It was him.
After six years of living together, she could recognize his voice instantly—no disguise this time.
"Boss, why aren’t you asleep yet?"
Shirley forced herself to stay calm as she turned to face the intimidating figure.
It was indeed Boss Nie.
"That’s my question for you."
Boss Nie spoke leisurely.
Clad in a trench coat, his lean frame exuded an indescribable, terrifying aura.
Shirley’s legs trembled beneath her.
Only now did she realize—she had never truly understood this man.
"Hand over the reagent now that it’s ready. You’ve worked hard, supervising through the night." Boss Nie smiled faintly.
Shirley clutched the vial in her arms, her guard rising.
Both knew the charade was over.
"You never trusted me?"
Shirley’s voice was icy.
Six years.
Six whole years!
She had sacrificed her body to earn Boss Nie’s trust.
She had even tried to convince herself she loved him.
Yet, he had never believed her at all.
Boss Nie sighed. "You performed flawlessly. But from the moment you first approached me, I knew who you were—Red Fox, an SS-rank assassin from Heaven’s Gate."
Shirley’s face paled.
Her identity was Heaven’s Gate’s best-kept secret. Even their leader only knew of her existence, not her true name.
How did Boss Nie know?!
"Since I knew your identity from the start, every move you made had an ulterior motive. So ‘trust’ was never on the table—I simply never believed you."
Hearing this, Shirley’s expression darkened.
"Then why—?"
Her voice dripped with venom.
"Couldn’t let you perform a one-woman show, could I? I played along. Besides, you were quite… enjoyable."
Boss Nie smirked appreciatively.
Shirley’s eyes flashed coldly before she laughed. "Nie Chengwen, you’ve hidden yourself well."
"Credit goes to Heaven’s Gate. My villa was crawling with your spies—hard to move freely."
Boss Nie chuckled.
"Don’t get cocky!"
Shirley’s lips twisted into a sinister grin.
This time, Heaven’s Gate had deployed nearly all its elite forces.
Two SS-rank assassins—besides herself!
What could the Nie Family possibly do to stop them?
"Waiting for them?"
Boss Nie clapped his hands.
Several bound figures were dragged forward by bodyguards.
Shirley’s pupils constricted.
There—Spear and White Rhino, two infamous SS-rank killers!
Both now knelt gagged, bound by steel-like wires, utterly immobilized.
"Nie, all fifteen assassins on the list are here. None escaped."
A gray-haired man in a security guard’s uniform spoke calmly, hands clasped behind his back.
Shirley’s breath hitched.
Void Realm!
The old gatekeeper—Uncle Qian—was a Void Realm martial artist?!
"Thank you, Uncle Qian."
Boss Nie smiled.
Uncle Qian waved it off. "Haven’t fought in years. Xiao Chen and the others helped too."
Shirley’s stomach dropped.
Even the two guards who always played chess at the gate were Transformation Realm experts!
How had they masked their auras?!
Why hadn’t she noticed?!
"By the way, where’s Old Li? He was in charge of the warehouse—this mess is on him."
Uncle Qian muttered, frowning.
With two Void Realm masters present, Old Li’s absence was glaring.
Had he been here, subduing these assassins would’ve been easier.
"Nie Chengwen, you want the reagent?!"
Shirley stepped back, gripping the small case at her waist, her smirk turning contemptuous.
Guns instantly trained on her.
"Kill me, and no one gets it."
Her voice was a frozen warning.
"Lower your weapons."
Boss Nie’s gaze remained steady. "Name your terms."
"I take half the reagent—the rest is yours."
Shirley’s demand was sharp.
Boss Nie chuckled. "You’ll get none of it."
"You leave me no choice!"
Shirley pulled out a pre-filled syringe and injected herself.
Instantly, white fur sprouted across her skin. Her body grew more voluptuous.
A pair of beastly ears emerged atop her head, followed by a fluffy tail.
But her face twisted grotesquely—fangs bared, far from the alluring cat-girl aesthetic.
"Fascinating. The reagent works. Heaven’s Gate delivers. Give Dr. Yang a raise."
Boss Nie nodded approvingly.
"Nie Chengwen—DIE!"
Shirley lunged.
Two bodyguards intercepted her.
Two slashes of her claws later—their torsos split mid-air, upper halves sliding apart before hitting the ground.
Uncle Qian’s face darkened. "Nie, be careful. She’s reached Void Realm strength. This won’t be easy."
Boss Nie’s lips curled. "Relax. She won’t attack me."
