Chapter 249: 249 - Rebirth realm

Yanxiao still remembered the night that little girl was born. She wasn’t afraid of him, she didn’t cry when she saw him.

For tens of thousands of years, he had guarded the dynasty that ruled the Eternal River Sect, the heirs of the sect’s founder and Yanxiao’s best friend.

A position that was soon taken by that girl.

For 3,000 years, they had been best friends, until, on that day, she changed.

She was no longer the best friend Yanxiao once had.

His eyes were filled with fury, fury enough to completely blind him from reason, fury that fell upon Qingyi.

The handsome young man resisted, his knees trembling but not giving way, unlike the ground beneath his feet, which soon swallowed up his calf.

Even so, he didn’t give in, a drop of blood dripping from his clenched fists as his fingernails sank into the palm of his hand.

"I had no contact with the sect leader, I was born and raised in the outer region and never received any outside help for my cultivation!"

Roared the handsome young man, and the fire in Yanxiao’s eyes grew even stronger, growing until a loud voice interrupted him.

"Yanxiao, what the hell do you think you’re doing?" A figure appeared on the horizon, its Qi no less than Yanxiao’s, taking over the mansion hall and enveloping Qingyi, protecting him.

Accompanying that voice came a crash, Yanxiao’s face being thrown to the side, his eyes wide.

He had just been slapped.

The figure in front of him was a large moon tiger, a mythical beast, just like him, guardian of the Hidden Moonlight Sect.

Its eyes were a serene blue and its thick, soft fur an elegant grayish white.

"I’ve lost control, I’m sorry." Yanxiao lowered his head, large, sharp teeth being revealed as he contracted his facial muscles, trying to control the scowl on his face.

"You can go now, little one, I’ll knock some sense into that senile old fool." The moon tigress spoke, her eyes focused on Yanxiao, who shuddered slightly.

There were certain rumors about Yanxiao and the guardian of the hidden moonlight sect being lovers, but few believed them.

How could such high beings surrender to a forbidden relationship?

But seeing how that tigress looked at Yanxiao, Qingyi had to admit that such a rumor didn’t seem to be a lie.

He obviously left immediately, controlling his trembling steps and spitting out a gulp of blood.

That wasn’t pleasant...

Even though he understood Yanxiao, Qingyi was unable to hide a twinge of anger rising in his heart.

But he suppressed it.

"A scent similar to the sect leader on me... what could he mean by that?" muttered Qingyi.

Everything led to one answer: that woman had come to this world with Khaedryss.

Was she related to Elize’s family in some way?

Qingyi wasn’t sure, but he knew he had to investigate this.

The moment he was powerful enough to challenge Yanxiao, he would try to meet the sect leader.

"For now... I need to get stronger, I need to reach the top of the top," said Qingyi, looking at his status screen.

His wealth had increased even more, to a level where he no longer feared the huge increase in the price of the next cultivation realm.

Before secluding himself for cultivation behind, Qingyi met up with Biyue, handing her some talent and lineage enhancement pills, enough to raise everything to mortal grade.

After giving her a little more love, he headed towards one of the many forests surrounding the orthodox alliance, looking for a good place to train.

After a bit of searching, he finally found it: a deep valley exactly between two mountains, forming a natural barrier with a single entrance.

Sitting cross-legged, Qingyi clicked away to improve his cultivation.

Similar to the realm of the iron body, the realm of rebirth was a complete reconstruction of the body, one even more violent than the previous one.

Qingyi felt every piece of skin on his body burn, his eyes injected with blood as a painful grunt escaped his lips.

His body arched in a strange way as his bones broke and his muscles twitched until they tore.

At the same time, four separate Qi’s exploded from his body, which floated a few meters off the ground.

On one side, his lightning sword Qi cut trees in half, powerful lightning tearing through the ground for hundreds of meters.

On the other, its flames set fire to the forest, burning everything that its ice Qi didn’t freeze.

If anyone had seen that advance, they would have realized something: Qingyi had managed to cause a projection, not of lineage, but of his own cultivation, to tear through the skies.

Something no less rare than a tribulation.

When the outer shell of skin finally shattered, revealing Qingyi’s pure, rebuilt body underneath, the world around him had already changed completely.

Destruction spread for miles, the entire valley reduced to a black floor of burnt and destroyed trees, the mountains fortunately protecting the rest of the forest from the power of his breakthrough.

He was even glad that he had chosen this place rather than any other cultivation room, he was sure that few in the alliance would be able to withstand such power.

With a soft sigh, Qingyi retracted his hand.

He didn’t use Qi, either externally or internally. Only his physical power was needed.

With a gleam in his eye, Qingyi punched and the air in front of him shattered, a shockwave spreading as the punch created a vacuum around him, pushing everything forward and opening a tear for dozens of meters.

All this with pure physical force.

No Qi, no special techniques.

Yes... that power was good...

But that wasn’t the end of Qingyi’s training.

He needed new affinities and his lightning steps were already lagging behind the skills of other experts of his level.

Qingyi really needed a new movement technique.
