I'm Here to Kill Your Daughter
Chen Chang'an walked straight toward Prince Qi without paying any attention to the gazes of those around him, directly taking a seat beside the prince.
"Why did you tell me so much that day?"
"Do you know me?" Chen Chang'an asked.
"Who hasn't heard of Chen Chang'an's name?"
"However, at the time, I didn’t know who you were."
"Then why did you say so much to me?"
"Just bored, wanted someone to chat with. Is that not allowed?"
Bored?
As Prince Qi, he suddenly went to a tavern and struck up a conversation with a stranger?
How utterly bored must he have been to do something like that?
"That day in the tavern, no one recognized you?"
"In the Immortal Capital, do you really have so little presence?"
"I prefer to keep a low profile, so most people don’t know what I look like."
"So, doesn’t that make me quite approachable?"
Approachable?
Seeing Prince Qi’s carefree demeanor, Chen Chang'an couldn’t help but ask curiously, "Today, I’ve come to kill your daughter."
"What do you think about that?"
Chen Chang'an didn’t bother to conceal his voice—everyone present heard his words clearly.
The crowd’s expressions shifted instantly. To openly declare in front of Prince Qi that he intended to kill his daughter? Had Chen Chang'an lost his mind?
Even if he was the most monstrous genius, Prince Qi was a peak Immortal Venerable. Moreover, Prince Qi’s daughter was about to become the empress of the Yongyang Immortal Dynasty. How could the current emperor allow such a thing to happen?
That was an Immortal Emperor, after all.
"That’s an interesting idea."
"Need my help?"
Prince Qi’s response left everyone even more dumbfounded. Help? A father offering to assist in killing his own daughter?
Madness!
Had both of them gone mad?
Chen Chang'an studied Prince Qi deeply. Clearly, the prince understood his probing.
But what was the meaning behind his reaction? What message was he trying to convey?
Did he also suspect his daughter had a problem?
"Sure."
"Then you’d better lend me a hand."
"Don’t worry, I’ll help you."
Chen Chang'an chuckled but didn’t continue the conversation. This man was far too slippery.
"His Majesty arrives!"
As the shrill voice of the eunuch rang out, everyone rose to their feet—except for Chen Chang'an, who remained seated.
The emperor of the Yongyang Immortal Dynasty appeared to be in his forties or fifties. Though middle-aged, he carried himself with regal dignity and overwhelming authority.
By his side stood the Princess of Prince Qi's Mansion.
Their arrival instantly heightened the tension in the hall.
After all, Chen Chang'an had just openly declared his intent to kill the princess. No one believed he was joking.
As Chen Chang'an slowly stood, many felt their hearts leap into their throats.
Was this guy really going to act now?
"Quite a few, aren’t there?"
Chen Chang'an’s remark left many frowning. What did he mean by "quite a few"?
Yet in the next moment, Chen Chang'an raised a finger—and time itself froze.
Was he… really going to strike?
Chen Chang'an hadn’t made his earlier declaration without reason. He wanted to observe the reactions of those present and identify anyone who behaved unusually if he took action.
The moment he stood, not a single reaction in the hall escaped his perception.
Among the thousands of guests, over a thousand had instinctively tensed, readying themselves.
Whether they were demons or not, they were undoubtedly aligned with the princess.
Snap!
With a flick of his fingers, the bodies of those thousand-plus individuals exploded into clouds of blood mist.
Then, Chen Chang'an released the time freeze.
The moment time resumed, shock and confusion swept through the crowd.
Chen Chang'an’s power had far exceeded their expectations—but why had he slaughtered so many seemingly unrelated people?
"Chen Chang'an, why… why did you kill indiscriminately?"
"What wrong did they do to you?"
"That was my cousin you just killed! You owe us an explanation!"
"Chen Chang'an, you—"
Ignoring the outcry, Chen Chang'an turned his gaze to the visibly shaken Princess of Prince Qi's Mansion.
"Surprised?"
"But right now, you must be wondering—why haven’t your other accomplices shown up yet, am I right?" Chen Chang'an asked with a smile.
His words only deepened the crowd’s bewilderment. Accomplices? What was he talking about?
"Your Majesty, save me! I don’t understand what he’s saying!" The princess cowered behind the emperor.
"You don’t know?"
"But I do."
The emperor sneered before abruptly seizing the princess by the throat.
"Do you truly think me a fool?"
"From the moment you began seducing me, I knew you were no longer the Princess Huaiyang I once knew."
"I merely played along to see what schemes you had in store."
"I just didn’t expect someone else to act first today."
The emperor’s words sent a wave of stunned silence through the hall. Even the imperial family stood dumbfounded.
The emperor had… been pretending all along?
Then what about the imprisoned empress—?
As the royals scrambled to make sense of the situation, the empress and the Master of Heavenly Sword Sect appeared before them.
"Who are you, really?"
"Where have you taken my daughter?"
"Tell me!" Prince Qi rose to his feet, his gaze icy as he glared at Princess Huaiyang.
"Father, I am your daughter!"
"Don’t… don’t you recognize me?" the princess pleaded desperately.
"Nonsense!"
"Do you think I wouldn’t know my own child?"
"You… are not my daughter."
"Otherwise, how could you have killed the man you loved most?"
"Do you truly believe I’m unaware of what you’ve done?"
Prince Qi knew exactly who his daughter had loved—and he had never opposed their relationship. Yet he had watched as she changed into someone unrecognizable, even murdering the one she once cherished.
Then, without hesitation, she had turned to seducing his sworn brother, the emperor of the Yongyang Immortal Dynasty.
How could such abnormal behavior not raise suspicion?
"He… he betrayed me first!"
"I only—"
"Enough excuses."
"Tell me—where is my daughter?"
"What exactly are you plotting?" Prince Qi demanded coldly.
"Stop asking."
"She really is your daughter."
Chen Chang'an’s words left Prince Qi, the emperor, and the others stunned.
What did he mean?
She truly was Princess Huaiyang?
"Impossible!"
"I know my daughter—she would never—"
"But what if she has pledged herself to the demon race?"
The demon race?
Pledged to the demons?
