So It's a Rotten Salted Fish
"Do you know him?"
Chen Qingqing's first thought was that this person must be acquainted with Chen Chang'an, which was why he had acted this way.
However, after seeing Chen Chang'an's expression, she felt her guess might be mistaken.
"Didn’t know him before, but now… we can get acquainted."
Chen Chang'an smiled faintly, then turned his gaze toward the young man who had spoken.
In the Ancient Immortal Realm, one could never judge a person’s age by appearance alone—what mattered first was their cultivation level.
The young man before them had reached the peak of the Immortal King realm, meaning he was no ordinary figure. However, he definitely wasn’t part of the younger generation.
He probably just preferred maintaining a youthful appearance to attract more female admirers.
A single glance was enough to tell—this man was a lecherous fiend.
"You’re rich?" Chen Chang'an asked with a smirk.
"You kidding? Do you even know who I am?"
"Let me enlighten you—I’m Dongfang Yin. Surely you’ve heard that name before?" Dongfang Yin wore a look of smug pride.
But how would Chen Chang'an have heard of him? Not only did the name mean nothing to him, even the surname "Dongfang" rang no bells whatsoever.
"So that’s Dongfang Yin? Why is he here?"
"My heavens, I actually got to see someone from the Dongfang family today."
"I’ve heard Dongfang Yin is quite powerful—already at the peak of the Immortal King realm, on the verge of breaking through to Immortal Emperor."
"Exactly. And the Dongfang family has Immortal Venerable experts, not just one but several!"
"Looks like Dongfang Yin has taken a liking to this young lady."
"Tch, there have always been rumors that Dongfang Yin is obsessed with women. Seems they were true."
The murmurs of the crowd reached Dongfang Yin’s ears without missing a word, but far from minding, he seemed to relish them.
He basked in the awe, shock, and fear his name inspired in others.
Yet Chen Chang'an’s indifference made Dongfang Yin’s expression darken. Did this guy genuinely not know him, or was he simply looking down on him?
"And here I thought you were someone important. Turns out the strongest in your family is just an Immortal Venerable?"
"What kind of treasures could you possibly have?"
"Pathetic."
Disappointing.
Utterly disappointing.
If this had been a family with an Immortal Emperor-level expert, Chen Chang'an might have been a little more excited. After all, lately, he’d been riding high.
Whether it was the Nine-Tailed Divine Fox clan or the Qilin clan, the rewards they’d given were truly substantial.
Compared to them, the Dongfang family’s resources were meager—even if they emptied their vaults, they couldn’t hold a candle to the Nine-Tailed Foxes or the Qilin.
"Kid, what did you just say?"
"‘Just an Immortal Venerable’?"
"You’ve got quite the mouth on you!"
"Are you looking down on me, Dongfang Yin?" Dongfang Yin demanded coldly.
"Don’t misunderstand."
"I’m looking down on your entire family."
"Thought I’d hooked a big fish, but you’re just a dried-up minnow."
"Total waste of my emotional investment." Chen Chang'an scoffed.
It wasn’t often someone came looking for trouble—perfect for extorting a hefty sum. But who’d have thought the other party’s status would be such a letdown?
Chen Chang'an’s disdain made Dongfang Yin’s face twist with fury.
The Dongfang family might not be a top-tier clan, let alone comparable to the Nine Great Immortal Families.
But they still had Immortal Venerable experts! How dare a fellow peak Immortal King look down on them?
What gave him the right?
"Kid, you’ve got a death wish."
"Don’t think just because you’ve reached the peak of the Immortal King realm, you can disregard everything."
"Even among peak Immortal Kings, there are vast differences in strength."
"Today, I’ll give you a proper lesson—show you what a true peak Immortal King looks like!"
Give him a lesson?
Chen Chang'an suddenly laughed. The guy wasn’t wrong about one thing—even at the same cultivation level, the gap in power could be enormous.
Before Dongfang Yin could even make a move, Chen Chang'an was already standing right in front of him.
Dongfang Yin’s expression froze—he hadn’t sensed Chen Chang'an’s approach at all.
Then, with a single slap, Chen Chang'an smacked Dongfang Yin’s head.
BANG!
Dongfang Yin’s entire body was driven into the ground, leaving only his head sticking out.
"You bastard!"
"I won’t let you get away with this!"
"I—"
"What’s going on? Why can’t I move?"
Dongfang Yin burned with rage, trying to burst out from underground, only to find his body completely immobilized, as if nailed in place.
"See the difference now?" Chen Chang'an crouched down, looking at the furious Dongfang Yin.
"Y-you… who the hell are you?"
Dongfang Yin wasn’t stupid—he could tell this man’s strength was on a level he couldn’t hope to match.
Meanwhile, Chen Qingqing stood to the side, utterly confused. "Why did they start fighting?"
"Uh… because of you," Da Huang said helplessly.
Because of me?
Chen Qingqing didn’t understand. As far as she could tell, nothing had happened—she’d just wanted to buy a piece of jewelry.
"I guess I shouldn’t buy jewelry anymore. Too much trouble," Chen Qingqing sighed.
Da Huang felt even more exasperated. Was this really about jewelry?
"You seriously don’t get it?"
"That Dongfang Yin was obviously trying to take advantage of you."
"This… the whole men-and-women thing—do you really not know anything about it?" Da Huang asked curiously.
Chen Qingqing shook her head blankly. She wasn’t truly human, and though she had lived a long time, she had no understanding of romantic or physical desires.
"No way!"
"My big bro spent over a decade with you, and he didn’t do anything?"
"Is he… sick or something?"
"A physician who can’t heal himself?"
"Guess I’ll have to check up on his health." Da Huang said with concern.
"His body is fine. Very strong. He shouldn’t be sick."
Fine?
Very strong?
Wait, does that mean something already happened?
Otherwise, how could she say that?
Then why was she acting so clueless just now?
Holy—
Did big bro use some underhanded method?
"As expected of big bro—truly a role model for us all." Da Huang’s face was full of admiration.
Unable to make sense of Da Huang’s words, Chen Qingqing ignored him and walked over to Chen Chang'an.
"Why?"
Chen Chang'an was taken aback by her question. "Why what?"
"Why did you fight? Da Huang said it was because of me. Is that true?"
"Sort of."
"He wanted to sleep with you. Get it?"
Sleep with me?
Chen Qingqing nodded, then shook her head. She understood sleeping, but "sleeping with her" was beyond her comprehension.
"Don’t worry. I’ll teach you later."
"Good, I want to learn."
