The Kirin Master
The environment of the Sacred Qilin Heaven appeared slightly better than Qingxuan Heaven, though the difference wasn’t particularly vast.
Since all the qilins were rushing toward this place, Chen Chang’an wasn’t in a hurry to move. Instead, he took a moment to observe his surroundings.
"This teleportation array seems to be located in quite a remote spot," he mused.
"What’s the purpose of setting it up here?"
"To avoid detection?"
"That doesn’t seem very logical."
Chen Chang’an felt that since this was a teleportation array meant for mutual exchange between two races—and also served as a contingency measure in emergencies—choosing such a location didn’t seem like a wise decision.
At the very least, given the current circumstances, it would take some effort for the qilin clansmen to reach this place.
"After all, establishing a teleportation array between blessed realms is extremely difficult," Little Earthworm explained.
"Perhaps this was the only feasible location where a stable connection could be formed between these two realms."
"Besides, while this place may look remote, it’s actually relatively close to the qilin clan’s living area within Sacred Qilin Heaven."
"See? Even a member of the dragon race knows more than you."
Hearing Chen Chang’an’s remark, Da Huang couldn’t help but feel a little annoyed. So what if Little Earthworm knew more? If it liked to talk, let it talk. Why blame me?
"What? You disagree?"
"No, not at all."
"You clearly do. Did coming back home give you a backbone now that you’ve got your clan as backup?"
Chen Chang’an’s words suddenly reminded Da Huang—
That’s right!
I’m home now!
The entire qilin clan is my support! Why shouldn’t I act tough?
"Ahem!"
"Little Chen—"
BAM!
Before he could finish, Chen Chang’an kicked Da Huang flying.
"Who do you think you’re talking to?"
That kick quickly brought Da Huang back to reality. Even if he was home now, he still shouldn’t try to act cool in front of Chen Chang’an—unless he wanted another kick.
"Big Bro, come on, no need to get physical."
"What if you hurt yourself?"
"Let’s talk things out nicely." Da Huang grinned as he trotted back to Chen Chang’an’s side.
However, now that he had returned to his true form, Da Huang couldn’t rub his head against Chen Chang’an’s leg like before.
He was too tall—he couldn’t reach!
"They’re here!"
Suddenly, several powerful auras appeared nearby. Chen Chang’an noticed a few majestic qilins approaching.
The moment they arrived, they transformed into humanoid forms. Their eyes first swept over Chen Chang’an before settling on Da Huang.
"The Qilin Clan welcomes the return of the Sacred Lord!"
Sacred Lord?
The Qilin Sacred Lord?
Who?
Da Huang?
Holy shit!
Even Chen Chang’an was taken aback. He never expected Da Huang to have such a status.
Meanwhile, Da Huang was practically bursting with joy inside.
I’m the Sacred Lord!
HAHAHAHA!
I’m the Sacred Lord of the Qilin Clan!
Finally, I can hold my head high!
This feels amazing!
"This guy?"
"The Sacred Lord?" Chen Chang’an asked skeptically.
"Do not disrespect the Sacred Lord."
"Even if you share a close relationship with him, we will not tolerate any insults toward the Sacred Lord in front of the Qilin Clan," the clan leader said sternly.
"Hey, we’re all on the same side. No need for hostility."
"This is my big bro."
Though Da Huang was feeling a little too pleased with himself, he quickly regained his senses. Even if he was the Sacred Lord now, he still had to stick with Chen Chang’an in the future.
If he got too carried away today, he’d only suffer later. Not worth it—definitely not worth it.
"As you command, Sacred Lord."
Seeing the qilin clansmen bowing respectfully to him, Da Huang couldn’t help but revel in the moment.
How long had it been since he last enjoyed such treatment after leaving the Tai Xuan Realm?
"So, you’re the ones who sent my master to take the Sacred Lord to the Tai Xuan Realm?"
"Was this intentional?" Chen Chang’an frowned.
"Indeed."
"However, this isn’t the place to discuss such matters."
"Let us return to the Golden Qilin Mountains first," the clan leader suggested.
"Fine."
"What about the other qilin clansmen heading this way?"
"No need to worry about them."
Since the clan leader said so, Chen Chang’an didn’t press further.
Under the clan leader’s guidance, they soon arrived at the Golden Qilin Mountains.
There, an elderly man stood waiting with a warm smile as Chen Chang’an and Da Huang approached.
"Welcome back, Sacred Lord."
"And greetings to you as well, Young Master Chen."
Given his previous experience with the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan, Chen Chang’an wasn’t surprised that the other party knew of him.
"Sacred Lord, please come with me."
"Since you were sent to the Tai Xuan Realm shortly after birth, you have yet to undergo the Qilin Clan’s inheritance ceremony."
"Moreover, your strength needs improvement," the Qilin Ancestor said with a smile.
Da Huang glanced at Chen Chang’an, who gave a slight nod in response. With that, Da Huang followed the ancestor and departed.
Once Da Huang was gone, Chen Chang’an asked, "I assume there’s more you wish to discuss with me?"
"Indeed."
"You must have already learned much from the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan, correct?" the clan leader inquired.
"Are you referring to the prophecy about the future?" Chen Chang’an asked.
"Precisely."
"Few know of this matter, but Hu Tianjiao first shared it with our Qilin Clan."
"Thus, we’ve been preparing for a long time."
"Sending the Sacred Lord to the Tai Xuan Realm was part of that plan. Otherwise, we would never have allowed him to follow the young miss of the Mu Family there."
Chen Chang’an nodded but couldn’t help asking, "Da Huang is the Sacred Lord—but what does that title truly mean?"
"The Sacred Lord!"
At the mention of those words, a deep reverence and respect flickered in the clan leader’s eyes.
"When the Qilin Clan first emerged in the Ancient Immortal Domain, there was only one—the progenitor of our race, the Sacred Lord."
"For the sake of the Qilin Clan, he sacrificed everything before eventually entering the cycle of reincarnation."
"When the Sacred Lord was reborn, heavenly blessings descended, elevating the strength of our entire clan."
"Without the Sacred Lord, the Qilin Clan would not exist."
"Yet, to prepare for the coming calamity in the Ancient Immortal Domain, we had no choice but to send him to the Tai Xuan Realm."
"Because you are an existence none of us can fully comprehend. By following you, an unforeseen outcome may arise."
"Moreover, we hoped to alter fate itself—to see if the final outcome could be changed."
"By the way, were you searching for this?"
"We’ve prepared it for you."
With that, the clan leader produced a fragment of law.
"The… Fragment of Life Law?"
