Immortal Emperor Qin Shengtian
"Is this what you call restraint?"
Chen Chang'an's words caused Qin Yuxuan's expression to darken. Anyone with a brain could tell that if Chen Chang'an had chosen to kill, he likely wouldn’t let any of them leave alive.
"Are you really willing to offend our Sacred Yuan Immortal Dynasty just for these people?"
"What good does this do you?" Qin Yuxuan asked coldly.
What good?
This question wasn’t just on Qin Yuxuan’s mind—even the four ancestors of Qifeng Valley hadn’t expected Chen Chang'an to actually lend them a hand.
"Originally, I was just here to watch the show."
"But then he hit me. How could I just stand by?"
"As for who you are or what grudges you have—what the hell does that have to do with me?"
Just because of that?
Are you seriously this reckless?
"So that’s why you killed my imperial uncle?"
"Why else?"
"Hahahaha!"
"Fine, fine, very well!"
"Dare you tell me your name?"
"Our Sacred Yuan Immortal Dynasty will never—"
Before Qin Yuxuan could finish, Chen Chang'an looked at him as if he were an idiot.
Qin Yuxuan was no fool—he quickly realized that only an idiot would reveal their name, and only a fool would let them leave alive.
"You can’t—"
Before Qin Yuxuan could finish, Chen Chang'an struck, using them as test subjects to gauge the power of his Death Law.
In the eyes of the four Qifeng Valley ancestors, Chen Chang'an merely extended his right hand—but what happened next shattered their understanding once again.
Qin Yuxuan and his men instantly fell into a deathlike state.
It reminded them of the strange illness that had plagued them—almost identical to the symptoms of those afflicted, only far more severe. Many collapsed on the spot, their life signs vanishing instantly.
"You—"
Qin Yuxuan stared at Chen Chang'an in terror, feeling a surge of deathly energy ravaging his body.
He tried to resist, but there was no stopping it.
"Don’t waste your energy. You can’t resist it," Chen Chang'an said indifferently.
But the moment Qin Yuxuan’s life signs completely faded, a powerful energy erupted from his body.
A phantom figure emerged from within him.
"It’s him!"
"Divine Physician, be careful! That’s Qin Shengtian, the Sacred Yuan Immortal Dynasty’s founding ancestor!"
Qin Shengtian?
A powerhouse at the Immortal Emperor level?
"That must be a soul projection Qin Shengtian left within Qin Yuxuan—a failsafe to save him in critical moments."
"But the Divine Physician’s power was too overwhelming. By the time the projection triggered, Qin Yuxuan was already dead," the Feng Family's Ancestor said grimly.
Meanwhile, Qin Shengtian’s soul projection took in the sight of Qin Yuxuan and Qin Huang’s corpses, his eyes icy.
"Good."
"You’ve done well."
"Out of past sentiments, I spared you from annihilation."
"Yet today, you dare kill my Qin clansmen."
"You will pay for this," Qin Shengtian said coldly.
Hearing this, the four Qifeng Valley ancestors sneered. Spared them out of sentiment? More like he never had the chance to finish them off.
"A mere soul projection. Even if your true self were here, what could you do?" Chen Chang'an mocked.
His words darkened Qin Shengtian’s expression. This brat had no idea what true terror was.
"Die!"
Qin Shengtian struck, intending to obliterate Chen Chang'an on the spot.
But as a mere projection, a single attack drained all his energy.
"I wonder how much damage losing this wisp of soul will do to your true body."
Chen Chang'an ignored the attack entirely. With a flick of his finger, Qin Shengtian’s projection was instantly restrained—then erased.
At the same time, in the Sacred Yuan Immortal Dynasty, Qin Shengtian’s eyes snapped open. Though just a fragment, the loss still wounded him.
"Damn it!"
"I swear, I will not rest until this man is dead!"
Chen Chang'an’s actions were unforgivable. Qin Shengtian resolved to personally descend upon Liuyun Domain and end him.
At the entrance of Qifeng Valley—
Thud!
The four ancestors knelt before Chen Chang'an.
He had already saved them once by curing the valley’s plague. Now, he had single-handedly rescued them all again.
They knew—without Chen Chang'an, Qifeng Valley would have been doomed.
"Stand up."
"I just happened to be here," Chen Chang'an said lightly.
"Regardless of the reason, you saved us all."
"Such a debt of gratitude—we don’t know how to repay it."
"Ah!"
"Our valley holds a treasure. Perhaps we could offer it to the Divine Physician?"
"What do you think?"
At the He Family Ancestor’s words, the other three pondered, then nodded.
This object was the root of everything—the reason for their decline. Without it, none of this would have happened.
"What treasure?" Chen Chang'an asked curiously.
"This thing…"
The He Family Ancestor explained the full story, revealing the grudge between them and the Sacred Yuan Immortal Dynasty.
"What kind of treasure could make their royal family so obsessed?" Chen Chang'an wondered.
"Come with us."
"We’ll show you."
Show him?
Chen Chang'an nodded, following the four back into Qifeng Valley.
Truthfully, he was burning with curiosity.
The four had hidden the object in an extremely secure location, protected by a barrier that required all of them to open it. Missing even one person would render it inaccessible.
"This barrier is foolproof. Without us—"
Before the He Family Ancestor could finish, Chen Chang'an had already stepped through the barrier as if it weren’t there.
The four ancestors gaped.
Monster!
What kind of freak ignores barriers like this?!
Or had the barrier malfunctioned?
Skeptical, they tried—only to be repelled by their own formation.
"How… did he do that?"
"No idea."
While they exchanged bewildered looks, Chen Chang'an had already reached the treasure.
"Uh… what the hell is this?"
