Obtained the Fragment of Law, the Crisis of Qifeng Valley
"Big bro, look—is that a turtle head floating on the water?"
Da Huang had felt something off earlier, as if being watched. When he turned around, he spotted what seemed like a turtle head bobbing on the surface of the pond, peeking around sneakily.
"Yi Tuo?"
"You're already out. What are you doing down there?"
"Hurry up and come out already!"
Chen Chang'an gave Yi Tuo a helpless look. What was this guy up to? If he was already out, why was he still lurking underwater?
"Big bro, come here," Yi Tuo whispered conspiratorially.
"What?" Chen Chang'an frowned.
"I… I found it, but I can’t bring it up."
Can’t bring it up?
Was there another barrier down there?
"Is there a barrier below?" Chen Chang'an asked.
"No."
"Then why can’t you bring it up?"
"You’ll understand if you come down."
"Fine… alright."
Chen Chang'an’s brows furrowed slightly. He sensed Yi Tuo must’ve run into trouble—otherwise, he wouldn’t be acting so shifty.
"Da Huang, go down and check."
"Huh? Me—"
Before Da Huang could react, Chen Chang'an kicked him straight into the pond.
Seeing Chen Chang'an didn’t follow, Yi Tuo was surprised, but at least Da Huang had taken the plunge.
"Heh heh heh."
Watching Da Huang sink, Yi Tuo snickered.
"Damn it!"
"Big bro, this bastard tricked you!"
"The thing’s right in his claws!"
After being kicked into the pond, Da Huang spotted the fragment of law clutched in Yi Tuo’s claw and realized—this turtle had actually learned to play mind games!
"I figured as much. That’s why I sent you down."
Yi Tuo’s odd behavior couldn’t have been for nothing. Chen Chang'an had sensed something was off from the start, hence the kick.
"Busted."
"But it was still fun."
"Big bro, I’m coming up."
Even if Chen Chang'an hadn’t fallen for it, getting Da Huang into the water counted as half a victory, filling Yi Tuo with a sense of accomplishment.
Whack!
The moment Yi Tuo surfaced, Chen Chang'an smacked him right on the turtle head.
"Picking up bad habits!"
"Daring to trick me now?"
"You think I’m that easy to fool?"
"When it comes to schemes, I’m your ancestor."
After scolding Yi Tuo, Chen Chang'an snatched the law fragment away.
Despite the smack, Yi Tuo wasn’t upset. Instead, he grinned at Da Huang, who was now climbing out of the water.
"Wet dog, wet dog, heh heh."
"Go to hell."
Da Huang shot Yi Tuo a glare, growing more annoyed by the second. The turtle looked downright sleazy—even sleazier than him. A sense of crisis crept in.
His title as the King of Sleaze might be in jeopardy!
"This time, it really went smoothly."
"Third one down."
Chen Chang'an ignored their antics. Securing the Death Law Fragment was a good outcome, and the process had been relatively easy this time.
But just as he finished merging the fragment, his expression darkened.
"Enough fooling around!"
"Something’s happened at Qifeng Valley."
"Let’s go check it out."
Something happened?
Da Huang and Yi Tuo froze. How could trouble pop up out of nowhere?
Meanwhile, at the entrance of Qifeng Valley, the four ancestors’ faces turned grim at Qin Yuxuan’s words.
Were they really trying to use their clansmen as leverage?
"Hmph, don’t even dream of it."
"Every one of them knows who they are and why we’ve been hiding in this wretched place."
"They’ve long been prepared for anything. None of our four families has a single coward."
No cowards?
Qin Yuxuan smirked disdainfully and pointed at a corpse nearby.
"Then what about this one? Isn’t he from your four families?"
"He’s the one who led us here. Otherwise, we’d never have guessed you’d flee so far, hiding in this remote corner of Liuyun Domain."
At the sight of the corpse, the Xu Family’s Ancestor paled.
Though the Xu Clan had many members, as a peak Immortal King, the ancestor remembered every face—especially this traitor who’d fled Qifeng Valley.
"Hmph, every family has its black sheep."
"Just because he feared death and craved wealth doesn’t mean the others are the same," the Xu Family’s Ancestor retorted coldly.
"Oh?"
"Then let’s see if they truly aren’t afraid to die."
"Imperial Uncle, I’ll trouble you to deal with these four. The rest inside… I’ll handle them myself."
"Hahaha! It’s been years since I last fought, but dealing with these four won’t be a problem."
Qin Huang’s strength was at the eighth level of the Immortal King Realm, far surpassing the four ancestors, who were only at the fifth level. Even combined, they stood no chance against him.
"Qin Huang, don’t underestimate us. Our cultivation stagnated only because we’ve been hiding here all these years."
"Don’t forget—back in the day, you were no match for us."
The words made Qin Huang’s expression twist. They had once been peers, but he had always lagged behind these four, a humiliation he’d carried for years.
That was precisely why he’d volunteered for this mission—to show them how the tables had turned.
"All you can do now is reminisce about the past."
"But you’d better understand—the me today is not the me of yesterday."
"One last chance: hand it over, or watch your clansmen die before your eyes," Qin Huang demanded icily.
"Hmph, let’s see if you have what it takes!"
The four ancestors of Qifeng Valley braced for battle, blocking the valley entrance to prevent anyone from entering.
"How laughable. Do you really think this will stop us?"
"You know nothing of my power!"
Qin Huang sneered, then struck without hesitation.
His palm strike unleashed a terrifying force, crashing toward the four like a tidal wave.
Feeling the overwhelming pressure, the ancestors’ hearts sank.
How had he grown so strong?
"Fight with everything you’ve got!"
With no choice, they prepared to go all out—but just as they moved, a figure suddenly appeared before them.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion.
Everyone present was stunned by the newcomer.
