Chapter 83: The Terrifying Power Within Tan Han
After my brief explanation, Tan Han fell into deep thought.
I stood awkwardly to the side, watching her.
I didn’t even know what was so profound about what I’d said.
Was this the gap between me and a genius?
“Hm… so you think Meditation is related to the Dream State? I’ve indeed read books about the connection between dreams and Meditation, and they do mention similar things…”
Tan Han suddenly spoke, but her words didn’t sound like a question, leaving me unsure how to respond.
Awkward as it was, it didn’t stop me from activating my Spirit Vision.
Maybe I couldn’t truly help Tan Han, but I could at least tell right away if she succeeded.
I could confirm the connection between Meditation and the Dream State.
After all, in this Meditation Room, the “Dream State” was the most active area.
Everyone’s Meditation Space was like a small circle enveloped by the larger circle of the external Dream State.
I could see it, but I couldn’t touch it.
Unless I started meditating myself.
Meditation was my way of accessing the “Dream State,” or rather, a pathway to it.
Perhaps I couldn’t create a Meditation Space like other seniors, but I could touch a much larger Dream State through Meditation.
I was certain that the Dream State I entered during Meditation was far larger than the Meditation Spaces of other seniors much larger.
And in some ways, the nature of the Dream State and the Meditation Space was the same.
My gaze then fell on Tan Han.
Though she wasn’t meditating now, I was curious about what I’d see if I observed her with Spirit Vision.
In the end, she appeared in my eyes in an abstract form countless data points, including but not limited to various aspects of her physical condition.
But this way of perceiving her gave me no interest at all; it even made my head throb.
After all, processing this information was mentally exhausting.
If I merely glanced at external information and ignored it, it wouldn’t affect me much.
But as I observed Tan Han, there seemed to be a “force” within her that was extraordinarily terrifying.
It wasn’t as profound as the Magic Power Source, but it was so vast that it filled me with fear at that moment.
In my eyes, as I lifted the barriers restricting information and let Spirit Vision freely access the Inner World’s data, Tan Han’s form resembled a budding flower.
Behind her, it was as if she was connected to a vast starry sky, boundless and infinite.
Just one more glance, and the starlight, like a galaxy, began to flow, frantically overwhelming my perception.
This was something I’d never encountered when using Spirit Vision on others.
All I remembered was that before my Spirit Vision forcibly shut off, I was engulfed by an endless golden light flooding my vision.
It violently disrupted my ability to process other information, as if it were retaliating and intimidating me for my unintentional intrusion.
This genuinely startled me, even making me unsteady on my feet.
“Hey, are you okay? What happened?”
Tan Han quickly stood up to support me, asking with concern.
She didn’t have time to ask about what had just happened.
From Tan Han’s perspective, she had felt as if someone had seen through her completely, sending chills down her spine.
When she looked up, she saw Little Han’s expression, those eyes unfocused yet staring at her so intensely that it made her uncomfortable.
It was as if, under those eyes, all her secrets were laid bare.
For a moment, she even felt a drowning sense of despair.
It wasn’t until Little Han stumbled that the sensation gradually faded, and she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She didn’t know what had happened, but Yang Yuehan must have done something with some unknown spell or probing technique?
Tan Han was curious but didn’t ask outright.
“Um… no, I’m fine. Sorry, I just lost my balance,” I said, quickly steadying myself and waving to indicate I was okay.
Making others worry because of my own issues would make the ten thousand feel even heavier in my hands, especially since I was already uneasy about taking it.
“It’s nothing. Did you think of something just now?”
Tan Han brushed it off but subtly probed, testing if I’d share anything.
“Um… not really. I just think overthinking meditation doesn’t help much. You have to try it more. I also tried several times back then. Meditation is probably about creating a subjective mental space of your own…”
My eyes darted away as I tried to recover from the shock and came up with an excuse to get Tan Han to try it herself.
Her theoretical knowledge was far stronger than mine.
If I tried explaining this to her, it’d be like showing off in front of an expert.
Instead of wasting time like this, it’d be better to let her start trying.
“A subjective mental space? I’ve seen theories like that. If you describe it that way, do you think Meditation is a state, or a pathway to entering a certain state?”
“This…”
Tan Han’s question stumped me.
I didn’t know how to answer.
In my understanding, meditation was naturally a mental state, but in my case, it was more like a pathway…
“It’s okay, just share your thoughts for my reference. I have my own considerations, so don’t worry about misleading me,” Tan Han reassured me.
“Alright, well, I think Meditation is a state, but for me, it’s a pathway to refining mental threads and enhancing mental strength.”
“That’s how you see it? It’s quite different from my perspective. If I didn’t know that meditation varies for everyone, I’d start doubting myself.”
“Um…”
I nodded along, though I’d only just learned that meditation was different for everyone.
My unconventional method must still count as Meditation, just to a greater degree of difference.
As for my earlier answer, I hadn’t lied.
I couldn’t exactly call what happened in the Dream State a “Meditation state.”
For me, Meditation was more like a pathway to reaching the Dream State.
“Anyway, thanks for your input. You were right earlier. I can't keep getting stuck in theory. Without trying, it’s all just empty talk. I really should give it a shot,” Tan Han said, coming to a realization and admitting it openly.
Obsessing over “succeeding on the first try” might be excessive.
All her preparations these past few days had only added theoretical knowledge and understanding that didn’t actually help with Meditation.
Once she recognized the issue, the hardest part was overcoming her own pride; that hurdle of arrogance unsupported by corresponding success was just her own wishful thinking.
“Thank you, Little Han.”
“No, really… uh…”
Being thanked twice by Tan Han made me a bit embarrassed, especially since I’d only said things that weren’t even inspirational platitudes.
But seeing Tan Han had already closed her eyes to start meditating, I didn’t continue.
I had to admit, Tan Han’s execution was impressive.
But should I remind her that many of the auxiliary spells in this room weren’t activated?
If she wasn’t going to use those spells, what was the point of booking such a high-end Meditation Room?
