Chapter 67 : The Method to Harness Magic Power

“Xiao Han.”

Seeing me waving, Bai Yu ran over excitedly.

“Hehe, Sister Bai, sorry, I didn’t check the time earlier. It’s so late, and I still bothered you…”

“It’s fine. I wasn’t sleeping anyway,” Bai Yu said immediately, dispelling most of the guilt I expressed.

“You said on the phone that you succeeded in meditating. Is it true?”

“Huh? Is Sister Bai still doubting me? That really hurts,” I said, summoning my mental strength and holding it in my hand as if showing off.

“Look Mental strength thread”

“Hm?” Clearly, Bai Yu looked puzzled by my actions.

“What’s wrong? Can’t Sister Bai see it? Use Spirit Vision.”

“You can see mental strength with Spirit Vision?”

Bai Yu asked with a serious expression.

Hearing her words, I realized I might have accidentally revealed something.

After a brief silence, Sister Bai and I tacitly avoided mentioning it again.

“Alright, good girl! How could Sister Bai not believe you?”

Bai Yu reached out, pinched my cheek, and smiled, breaking the earlier tension.

“Mm, thank you, Sister Bai”

“It’s nothing. Be careful in the future. You’re such a genius, others might get jealous.”

“Those who aren’t envied are mediocre. Let’s go, Sister Bai”

“Indeed, Xiao Han sure knows how to talk.”

Bai Yu nodded in agreement, dropping the topic and walking out with me.

On the way out, I kept chatting with Sister Bai.

I had so many questions I wanted answers to, though some were ones I could never ask, secrets I’d keep to myself forever.

“Sister Bai, now that I have a mental strength thread, why can’t I use magic power at all?”

“Magic power has a very high energy level. It’s the highest-level supernatural energy that living beings can harness, and only witches can master it. It’s called magic power because it comes from the witch race.”

“Huh? Magic power is terrifying?”

Listening to Sister Bai’s explanation, I hadn’t expected magic power to be so significant.

The highest energy level.

Wasn’t that even more impressive than the Three Great Top-tier Academies?

So Witch Academy was the true hidden gem.

I made the right choice!

“Of course.”

“Then how many mental strength threads do I need to harness magic power?”

I pressed further.

If I couldn’t personally control magic power, spells and the Magic Power Source would remain external tools, not truly mine.

“You’re asking the wrong question. No matter how many mental strength threads you have, you can’t affect magic power,” Sister Bai corrected me right away.

“Only more refined, higher-quality mental strength can influence magic power, even harness it.”

“Improve the quality of mental strength threads? How do I do that?”

I knew the meditation method didn’t mention anything about improving the refinement or quality of mental strength threads.

“Of course, by elevating your life level. I know you don’t understand this well, but once you grasp the relationship, it’ll make sense.”

Sister Bai cleared her throat and continued explaining.

“Right now, you’re a preparatory witch. To master magic power, the threshold is meditating to refine mental strength and obtain mental strength threads. You’ve already done that, but you still can’t affect magic power. That’s because you need to improve the quality of your mental strength.”

“How do you improve its quality and refinement? By elevating your life level. Raising your life level passively strengthens your mental strength.”

“And… How do you elevate your life level? Remember when I put the Magic Power Source in your body, the so-called Witchification? Witchification is the process of elevating you to the level of a supernatural witch. Advancing the Witchification process indirectly raises your life level. And how do you speed up Witchification? Guess.”

In the end, Sister Bai didn’t tell me directly but asked me to guess.

I had some guesses about this, so I tentatively said, “Is it by increasing the number of Magic Power Sources?”

“Exactly! Increasing the number of Magic Power Sources! You know a lot, huh.”

Sister Bai was surprised I thought of this.

In Bai Yu’s view, I shouldn’t know much about this.

But then she realized she couldn’t keep looking at me with old eyes.

After all, I had just accomplished a feat.

Succeeding in meditation on my first try.

That was something only the top geniuses of each class could do, like Tan Han, this year’s top scorer, whose talent was undeniable.

As for why being the top academic scorer meant she was also a genius in the supernatural path, that wasn’t something ordinary students could understand.

“Hehe I know a bit,” I said modestly.

“This isn’t just ‘a bit’ can explain. Fixed thinking can be harmful. Many freshmen don’t even know you can have more than one Magic Power Source halfway through their first semester.”

After leaving the meditation room area, Bai Yu took out her broom.

“Don’t mind riding a broom, right? You look tired. I’ll take you back first.”

“Thanks, Sister Bai. Now that you mention it, I am really tired.”

I yawned instinctively.

Realizing I was tired was probably the root cause of feeling sleepy.

At this hour, going back to the villa to sleep, I felt like I might not get up tomorrow morning.

Maybe I should text Senior Ying Shiqian or Senior Tang Yihan to let them know.

I hadn’t missed work these past few days, so suddenly being late warranted a heads-up, even if I was just a part-time worker with no fixed hours.

After getting on Sister Bai’s broom, though it wasn’t my first time, I was still a bit nervous, afraid of falling off.

But the cold night breeze was quite biting, making me feel more awake.

“How’s it feeling, Xiao Han? Want to learn how to use a flying broom?”

Bai Yu, seeing my state, asked on a whim.

“Huh? But I don’t have money to buy a broom, do I?”

“You don’t now, but that doesn’t mean you won’t later.

If you want, I can buy you one but you’d need to get a flying license first.”

“Aw No need for Sister Bai to spend money. But flying does sound cool. As for a flying license… maybe later.”

“Don’t you want to try it now? There’s still a while before school starts,” Sister Bai said, sounding like she wanted me to give it a shot, her tone carrying a hint of expectation.

“It’s not impossible?”

After thinking for a bit, I relented.

There was still a long time before school started.

I couldn’t just keep working part-time at the bakery forever, right?

And if I could fly on a broom by myself, that scene would definitely be super cool!

I hoped mc would have kept quiet cause too much attention can lead to worse situations than death, and as transmigrators mc should know that hiding and not being in spotlight is how you surivive, of course this world has ressurection but still, torture exist and who knows true death might be possible. So better watch out. But revealing it openly is also good as long as you trust the person and your talent isnt heaven defying
