Chapter 47: The Truth About Imp Academy

“Hmph…”

I scoffed without holding back.

They didn’t even know where I was, yet they dared to throw threats around.

Who did they think they were?

Despite my disdain, I was shocked to hear them mention that I was an innate Spirit Vision user.

They knew!

Whether my family had always known or Imp Academy told them later.

It didn't matter much to me anymore.

But regardless, the fact that Imp Academy valued innate Spirit Vision users so highly caught me off guard.

“You don’t know? Heh, some ignorant bitch doesn’t even know this? Better ask your teachers before you bring trouble to your academy and get expelled. It’s not worth it. Finding out where that kid went is too easy for us. Just wait, I'm looking forward to the day you’re kicked out.”

The call ended with a busy tone.

But my mood was far from calm.

They could track my whereabouts?

I hadn’t hidden anything.

Damn it… wasn’t this just asking for trouble?

And it was trouble they’d dumped on me for no reason.

Naturally, I wasn’t thrilled.

Now I started taking Imp Academy seriously.

No matter their reputation, they were still a supernatural academy that was undeniable.

I wondered if Witch Academy could withstand their pressure.

Witch Academy was just below the Three Great Top-tier Academies, so it shouldn’t buckle under their provocations, right?

Not long ago, our senior sisters beat up students from Holy Angel Academy, including a few from Wizard Academy.

Imp Academy shouldn’t dare mess with us.

But before I could dwell on it, my thoughts were interrupted by a message from Bai Yu.

She sent me another message!

This time, it wasn’t a question but a forwarded link.

Bai Yu: [Link]

Bai Yu: If you want to know, check this out.

Bai Yu: Were you harassed?

Bai Yu: The Curtain Wall was breached, so you probably got a call from your parents, right?

Bai Yu: Don’t overthink it.

Yang Yuehan: Thanks for your concern, Bai Yu.

I just got a call from my family.

Yang Yuehan: At the end, some guy claiming to be from Imp Academy snatched the phone and threatened me.

In the end, I came clean to Bai Yu about the situation.

Though I’d decided to cut ties with my family, Imp Academy was still a problem.

I wanted to gauge her stance and see if she could reassure me.

Bai Yu: What?

Bai Yu: How dare they?

Bai Yu: Don’t worry, you can handle your family however you want.

Bai Yu: As for Imp Academy, you don’t need to stress.

They wouldn’t dare come to Witch Academy to stir trouble, even with ten thousand times the courage.

Yang Yuehan: Really?

Bai Yu: Of course.

Bai Yu: Trust Witch Academy.

We’re bold enough to take on the Three Great Top-tier Academies.

They won’t let you get hurt.

Yang Yuehan: Okay, I trust you, Bai Yu.

I’ll leave it at that for now.

Yang Yuehan: That’s it then?

Bai Yu: Yup.

After the brief chat, a weight lifted from my heart.

Witch Academy’s strength exceeded my expectations.

But that didn’t stop me from taking Imp Academy seriously.

I scrolled up to the link she sent.

I had to see what Imp Academy was really about.

It was time to unveil its mysterious face.

Clicking the link, I was surprised to find the information was on the academy system.

That system really had everything.

As I read the description of Imp Academy, complete with images and more, my expression grew darker.

The last shred of hope in my heart was snuffed out.

Just as Witch Academy turned people into witches, and Holy Angel Academy and Elf Academy turned people into angels and elves, other academies had their unique teaching styles.

Imp Academy was no exception.

First, their appearance made every organ in my body recoil.

Imps didn’t have any standout features.

If I had to describe them, they were startlingly humanoid.

I couldn’t say more than that.

Compared to this, becoming a witch was… well, far better!

Next was Imp Academy’s teaching method.

The data showed that imps were a branch of the broader category of abyssal demons, so their teaching style was brutal, pure natural selection survival of the fittest.

The method of turning someone into an imp made me nauseous, my scalp tingling.

Compared to witchification, impification involved dissolving life into a flesh crucible and reshaping it into an imp’s form.

They treated life as raw material to birth imps or rather, to reshape life.

Even those without Spirit Vision could be used as flesh material for imp creation.

Those with Spirit Vision entered the flesh crucible, reshaped into new imps, and then incubated.

Every academic year began when imp eggs lined the blood pool’s edge.

Those recruited first hatched first, carrying fragmented memories from their past and mixed with others’ memory shards.

Instinctively, they built their worldview, influenced by their imp bloodline, engaging in the most primal behavior.

Eating.

Whether it was the bloody nutrients in the pool or their fellow imp eggs, it was all sustenance for survival.

Newly hatched imps could mature within a year, provided they had enough flesh.

They’d recognize themselves through their memories, go through collapse and acceptance, and either survive at Imp Academy or end themselves as a meal for other imps.

Reading this, I felt physically ill, especially since it came with pictures!

Unforgivable!

Why did such an academy exist?

Was this the cruel underside of the supernatural world?

Demons… this really matched my perception of the race, even if imps were just a branch.

From the name alone, I could tell their status among demons, probably cannon fodder.

I recalled the guy’s emphasis on innate Spirit Vision.

If I’d gone along with this, that would’ve been my fate.

Was innate Spirit Vision really that important?

It wasn’t hard to imagine.

My memories would be incomplete, mixed with others’ fragments.

My cognition wouldn’t be mine anymore.

I’d be forced to adapt to survive in that environment, wielding terrifying Spirit Vision.

Truly horrifying.

But I still didn’t understand what was so special about Spirit Vision.

Wasn’t it just a way to see the Inner World?

Many people in this world most, even had Spirit Vision.

It’s just that many didn’t awaken it before adulthood.

Did my innate Spirit Vision mean I had a higher potential in the supernatural world?

I had no way of knowing.

I considered asking Bai Yu, but then thought better of it.

I didn’t want to bother her again.

It was like my unknown talent, something beyond my current reach.

Digging deeper now would only add to my worries.

All I had left was an unshakable disgust for Imp Academy.

I exited the link.

I had no mood to read about Holy Angel Academy, Elf Academy, or others, despite their introductions being there.
