Chapter 112: The Bakery Club's Recruitment Talent Is Giving Away Free Cookies
After I carried a display board bigger than me to the location, I searched for a long time among the numerous club recruitment groups before finding Senior Ying Shiqian slacking off.
At that moment, the senior was sitting bored behind the table, one arm pressing down on the club application forms.
Only a simple banner declared that this was the registration spot for the “Bakery Club.’’
It was a completely different state compared to the other clubs that were showcasing their talents.
“Senior, you came so early just to slack off? You didn't even bring the stuff?”
I placed the display board in front of her, finally catching her attention.
“Hm? Ah! Little Han, you're here! I'm so bored here all by myself. If I had known, I would have stayed at the shop, boo hoo hoo…”
After seeing me, Senior Ying Shiqian immediately stood up and wailed.
This attracted a crowd of seniors from the neighboring clubs.
“Stop! Really, Senior, you came over without bringing anything?”
I held back the senior's enthusiasm with one hand, then pointed to the display board on the side.
This display board was probably specially designed, but from the looks of it, it seemed to be the kind that had been used many times, giving off a feeling of age.
But it was still usable.
“Eh? Oh, the base is too heavy, so I didn't bring it. Anyway, the new members recruited this year will quit again soon, so it doesn't really matter if I work hard or not.”
The senior was now slumped on the table like a salted fish.
“Pull yourself together, Senior. Aren't you afraid the store manager will come to inspect?”
I propped my hands on the table and kindly reminded her.
I had to say that Senior Ying Shiqian's true nature was still that of a slacker.
Her enthusiasm and liveliness were just an act for strangers.
After getting familiar with me, she immediately stopped hiding it.
But… aren't there a lot of people here?
“What's there to be afraid of? If the store manager comes, I'll just act cute and complain a little. She won't blame me. Come on, come on, sit down with me.”
The senior said nonchalantly.
“Alright, have it your way.”
I moved the display board back a bit and assembled it.
After being busy for a while, I finally sat down.
“Senior, how long do we have to be here?”
I asked casually while picking up my phone after dusting my hands.
“Hmm… two days, today and tomorrow.”
“Alright, so have we prepared any talents?”
“Talents? What kind of talents are needed for this? Are we going to pipe a flower with cream on a newcomer's head on the spot?”
Ying Shiqian retorted irritably.
“Okay, then… are we just going to stand here? This is still a recruitment drive, after all. Shouldn't we bring the free little cookies from the shop to give out? Maybe it'll win the favor of some first-year girls.”
I continued to suggest.
After all, I had a hand in making many of those little cookies and other things, and I didn't want their final destination to be the big trash can outside the shop.
“Eh? Good idea!”
Upon hearing my words, the senior sat up straight.
I didn't know which part of what I said excited her so much that it snapped her out of her slacker state.
“Huh?”
“I've decided! I'm going to go flirt with the first-year girls!”
Well then… so it was the "first-year girls" that got her going.
I didn't expect Senior Ying Shiqian to be interested in first-year girls.
But thinking back, she did seem quite interested in me before, but that enthusiasm seemed to fade after we got familiar with each other.
Does she get tired of the old and crave the new so quickly?
I'm a first-year girl too!
“Senior, I'm a first-year girl too,” I said mischievously, tugging at the corner of her clothes.
“Ah, this… Little Han is my good sister now! I'm flirting with the first-year girls to get more good sisters. Wait for me, I'll go find you some sisters right now!”
Ying Shiqian was first choked up by my words, but she quickly found an unreliable excuse to brush me off.
“Alright, do as you wish. I'll watch the stall.”
I stretched and leaned back in my chair, speaking helplessly.
“Good sister! Wait for me, I'm heading back now.”
Watching the seniors run off just like that, I could only stay here and guard the place out of boredom.
However, I took this opportunity to try and contact my classmates and pull them into the class group chat.
I numbered them one by one, then added them as friends and sent requests.
The process was extremely tedious and boring.
But soon, things started to get troublesome for me.
Probably after students started joining the group, problems like welcoming newcomers, new student inquiries, and so on followed one after another.
But there was no other way.
I still had to explain my identity as the Class President in the group and the reason for pulling them into the group, etc.
And it wasn't just the class group; I also created a second class mutual aid group, one without the Counselor.
As more and more people were pulled into the group, the chat started to get flooded.
The newcomers asked a lot of questions, and many of them were repetitive.
After answering several times, I started to get annoyed and just summarized the answers and solutions to these questions and sent them all out at once, @-ing all members while I was at it.
Afterward, I continued pulling students into the group.
After all, there were about a hundred people in the class, which was a really large number.
Even though it was only the morning of the second day of school, I already had the contact information for more than half of the classmates.
In the middle of it, some newcomers also came to consult me about clubs, but I didn't know much about them either.
I just gave a simple explanation, and it seemed they had no intention of joining.
In the end, even after Ying Shiqian had made a round trip to the bakery, I hadn't handed out a single club application form.
“Little Han Little Han I'm back.”
Ying Shiqian came over, holding her basket, and placed it directly on the table.
“You brought the whole basket over?”
“Yeah, there's hardly anyone in the shop anyway, so it's better to give them out here.”
The senior said with her usual enthusiastic smile, “Little Han, want to come with me to hand them out?”
“Um… no, no, I'm not good at this sort of thing. I'm still busy with class matters.”
I said, quickly waving my hands.
Now that I was the Class President, I had to prioritize the class.
Many newcomers didn't know anything after just enrolling, so they would naturally turn to me, the Class President, for help.
However, the fact that not a single person in our class had arrived at school early made me wonder.
I remembered there were quite a few newcomers who arrived early back then.
Could it be that not a single one was assigned to my Class 14?
Then just how many classes of new students are there?
Although I complained a little, I still enjoyed it tirelessly.
Helping others is a beautiful thing.
Seeing them encounter difficulties, helpless and only able to ask for help in the class group chat, eagerly holding their phones and hoping someone would reply to their questions.
The thought was even a little exciting.
Time passed bit by bit.
I hadn't really been busy these past two days.
I had already gotten my Flying License, and the part-time job at the bakery wasn't urgent.
With this rare free time, I planned to go to the library to borrow some books to read.
After all, I couldn't continue to degenerate like this.
I had been in the academy for so long, and although I had mastered some transcendent means, it didn't have much to do with my own efforts.
An academy is a place for learning, after all.
Learning the principles of the transcendent, mastering the means of controlling power, and exploring the unknown secrets of the world isn't this all part of the charm of the transcendent?
