Chapter 100: The Grand Official Start of School

After welcoming the third roommate to the villa, my life returned to normal.

After all the hustle of the past few days, I’d had enough.

Compared to running around looking for people, kneading dough at the bakery was way more fun.

Even though I’d paused my work guiding new students, I still kept an eye out for our fourth roommate.

She had vanished mysteriously, and if I couldn’t find her, I’d have to report it.

After all, if someone disappeared for no reason and the academy didn’t take it seriously, that’d be a huge problem.

But thinking about it, this was a transcendent academy, so maybe it was a little reasonable.

But that thought made it even scarier.

I didn’t want to inexplicably vanish one day.

After that day, Dongli Yiren also started doing part-time work, but it seemed she deliberately kept it from me, not wanting me to know.

After she rejected my offer to check on her job the first time, I didn’t bring it up again.

After all, running into someone you know while working a part-time job can be pretty awkward, especially since she’s such a tsundere.

She probably didn’t even realize it herself, but too bad for her tsundere is so outdated to me.

I’d give her a surprise sometime.

I was still hoping to get my Flying License before school started.

As for the other person in the villa, Guan Qiuling seemed to be adapting well to her new life.

She didn’t seem short on money at the moment.

Actually, I wasn’t short on money either, but not because of my part-time job.

I remembered the subsidy the academy promised for boys enrolling.

I should find a chance to tell both of them about it.

Dongli Yiren was always up earlier than me and back later than me, working so hard.

I hoped she hadn’t been sold off or something.

Time passed day by day.

Until the day Witch Academy officially started.

That day, I made a point to visit the area to welcoming new students to see the atmosphere.

If I hadn’t come to school early, my first arrival here would probably have been like this, right?

The simple registration plaza from before was now covered with massive Earth Vein constructs.

From a distance, you could see the iconic “Welcome New Students” sign.

Girls stepped in with hopeful hearts, guided from the Curtain Wall to the registration area.

The senior sisters guiding the new students were now wearing unified uniforms, not the casual styles from before.

They led groups of freshmen through the process in batches.

I watched enviously from the street as the Earth Vein energy flowed, enveloping the entire academy.

Yes, Earth Vein constructs.

Over the past few days, I've learned a bit about Earth Vein Energy.

In simple terms, it was a massive energy network flowing beneath the ground, spanning the entire world.

Witch Academy utilized its distribution properties, systematically channeling the energy to every corner of the campus.

On the day of enrollment, arrows on the ground guided the way, translucent and without substance, like a holographic projection in midair.

Passing a finger through them caused a ripple of energy.

The energy’s manifestation was visible even without Spirit Vision.

Interacting with it would display specific text, telling new students what to do and where to go.

This was just the most basic application.

The massive illusory structure at the registration area was also made of Earth Vein Energy.

After the registration days, it would likely revert to a wide-open plaza.

So, this grand display was essentially just for show, like a fountain in my previous life only turned on for big events.

But the fact that it could be done with a flick of a finger, with no real cost, was impressive.

It also left new students with a wonderful first impression of the transcendent world.

But I knew very well that the transcendent academy was no paradise.

They probably didn’t yet know what they’d face, and neither did I.

The transcendent world couldn’t possibly be as peaceful and beautiful as it seemed now.

On registration day, I finally received a notification from the academy on my phone.

It started with welcoming new students to Witch Academy, followed by the official enrollment

process announcement, and finally, class assignments for freshmen.

I was honored to be assigned to Class 14, though the class number wasn’t based on grades or anything else it was random.

But I didn’t believe that.

I knew Tan Han was fiercely fought over by teachers.

Random assignments were for filler students like me.

I’d been hanging out at the new student registration area early, hoping to spot any boys.

After all, today was the official enrollment day.

No boy would voluntarily enroll at Witch Academy, right?

At least, I hadn’t seen any so far.

But since today was the official enrollment day, the activities for snatching new students should be even more intense.

Were those senior sisters holding back elsewhere to avoid scaring the new arrivals?

“Xiao Han, what are you doing here?”

A sudden voice interrupted my thoughts.

After a brief moment of hesitation, I quickly recognized that this voice was way too familiar.

“Sister Bai!”

I turned around, seeing Sister Bai after so long.

The joy in my heart was indescribable.

“Mm, Xiao Han, did you miss me?”

“I did! So much! You said you’d be gone for just a few days, but it’s been so long with no news at all,” I said excitedly, throwing myself into Sister Bai’s arms without hesitation.

The old me wouldn’t have dared, but now I didn’t care.

Sister Bai definitely wouldn’t mind.

If she did, I’d apologize on the spot.

In front of her, I had plenty of room to be bold.

“Sorry, Xiao Han, I misjudged the timing. But look, I’m back now, aren’t I?”

Sister Bai didn’t say anything about my actions, just fondly ruffled my hair with a doting expression.

I felt like ever since I became a girl, my relationship with Sister Bai had leveled up.

Maybe we went from regular friends to besties.

It was great.

“Mm, Sister Bai, how did you find me here?”

I looked up at her and asked.

“Well, I went to the bakery where you work part-time. They said you weren’t there today, that you had the day off, and I might find you here. And here you are.”

“Oh, the senior sisters told you? Hehe, they guessed right. I didn’t even tell them I’d be here. How long did you look for me, Sister Bai?”

“In the sky, I spotted you with one glance,” Bai Yu said with a smile, then led me toward the crowd.

“So, does it feel different from when you arrived early?”

“Yeah, it feels so grand.”

“Then shall I walk you through the process again? After all, every batch of students only gets this welcome ceremony once,” Bai Yu said, holding my hand with a smile.

“Great”
