The level of gamification put me off a bit at the start. It's an idol novel with a system and all the cheating that comes with it as well as being a reincarnation of a reporter, similar to the pd novel in that aspect. The interactions between characters and the progression of the story so far have both been good. The fact that he doesn't have any of the memories of the person he's reincarnated as provides a lot of entertainment and drive. Overall I actually think it's pretty good if you power ... more>> through the bits that feel more like gamification than a system, which are: Spoiler Network Level - makes it so that people have levels of networking skill and if they are overwhelmingly higher than the main character then he loses stamina quickly while talking to them. Feels like an artificial restriction on the main character. Stamina - quantified stamina. To be fair, doesn't come up much except for in regards to network level or notoriety. I find Notoriety much less annoying that network level as its more of a quantification of something real rather than the artificial feel of network level. [collapse] <<less

First of all, the concept isn't exactly unique. While there's a few Idol-regression-timetravel-transmigration novels out there compared to regular isekai ones, there's still plenty. Nonetheless, the novel executes that concept well . It does its job perfectly of being engaging and actually provoking connection with the characters. ... more>> Spoiler Seriously, Hadeun's fans made my blood pressure rise haha [collapse] It's very much a good read. It's nothing revolutionary but as I said, it does it's job well at being an Idol novel. The main character is mostly rational and very much the straight-man of the group, though he gets screwed over by the system and by the past of Yuyeong. As of now, the group isn't exactly close or tight-knitted like how other Idol novels depict their cast, but they are growing close in forming a bond. It's actually much more realistic and refreshing, especially since the it reinforces the reason behind the group's failed debut. Each character stands out, though some don't get much spotlight despite being part of the cast ( Spoiler cough, cough Tae Oh [collapse] ) But nonetheless, they represent their archetypes well and they're fleshed out a bit in further chapters. A seriously nice read, it felt alive and not so... lacking like other Idol novels. 8/10! <<less
