I PULLED OUT THE EXCALIBUR

NOTICE (2)

Hello, this is NariaTa.

It's been almost three months since I wrote my last notice on March 25th. When I first started chemotherapy, I thought I would update my status once every month or two, but it has taken longer than expected.

To make a bit of an excuse, I didn’t really have much to tell you. If there were some good news, I would have written an update and shared what was going on, but chemotherapy takes time for any noticeable results to appear.

Moreover, both mentally and physically, it has been quite tough, so I felt that if I wrote a notice, it would just be filled with complaints, which made me delay the updates.

However, I have adapted after three months of treatment, and the mid-term results are positive. Many readers are concerned about my condition, so I thought it would be rude to delay any longer and decided to update you.

First of all, the mid-term evaluation of my chemotherapy is very good. The black masses in the images have disappeared cleanly, and my doctor has said that if I continue with the remaining sessions, it will be over.

I feel very fortunate. I was worried that if I had to continue beyond the 12 sessions, I might break down in tears.

Even though my situation is better compared to other cancer patients, and I am using relatively less toxic drugs, chemotherapy comes with many side effects. I was prepared, but experiencing it firsthand is really challenging.

At first, I thought it would be manageable, but right from the first week, my immunity dropped, causing an infection in a previously treated tooth, which needed extraction and potential implants. Leaving it untreated caused sleepless nights due to the pain.

After resolving that with immune-boosting injections by the second or third chemotherapy session, my hair started falling out, leading me to shave it off. Then, my skin acted up, fingertips turned black, I experienced trembling in my hands and feet, muscle pain due to the side effects of the immune-boosting injections, and so on.

Even the sight of hospital food made me nauseous, and just the smell of the food trays made me want to vomit.

None of these issues were life-threatening individually, but they consistently gnawed at my mental state. The hardest part was the inability to eat properly for a week after each chemotherapy session. My taste buds died, so I couldn’t taste anything, and nothing seemed appetizing, which was surprisingly heartbreaking.

However, after that week, I would feel a bit better, enjoy some tasty food, play games, live somewhat normally for a week, and then head back to the hospital. This cycle has repeated for about three months now, and I’ve somewhat adapted to it. So, I’ve started writing a bit again recently.

I realize this notice has been a bit all over the place.

Though this isn’t something to complain about so much, I am managing relatively well. Recently, a lot of good games are being released, and I’ve been catching up on many of them and living enjoyably.

Although it’s a bit tough, as readers worry, I’m not in a dire or life-threatening situation, so there’s no need to worry too much.

Finally, I’ll roughly outline the remaining schedule before ending this notice. If there are no major setbacks, I should be able to return to my daily life around the end of September. After about a month of recovery, I plan to return around early November.

Thank you for reading this long notice and for always waiting for me. Please wait just a bit longer. I will see you soon.

I will update you with good news after the treatment ends.

I thought it might be a bit disappointing to end the notice here, so I brought a sneak peek of a supporting character who will appear in the next stage of "I Pulled Out the Excalibur," in the "Grave of Stars." This character was designed while discussing various aspects with my beloved editor.

The character is called the "Helmet Knight."

We put a lot of effort into setting up this character. There are illustrations featuring this character as well as various other illustrations in preparation. I can't wait to reveal them to you soon.

You can look forward to it!
