So the Fairy Prefers to Wear Red...
The black-robed man raised his head in a daze upon hearing that godlike voice, and his eyes met a pair of pupils—ones shimmering with demonic light, brimming with wickedness, as if containing all the negative emotions of the world. Staring into them was like staring into an abyss.
"You—" The black-robed man barely managed to speak before an overwhelming suction force erupted from the other’s shoulder. His cultivation and spiritual energy surged backward like a reversed tide, violently pouring into the other’s body.
In an instant, the black-robed man withered into a desiccated husk, collapsing lifelessly to the ground.
"Keh keh keh..." Gu Qingfeng scanned the panicked immortals fleeing in all directions, laughing maniacally. "You’re all going to die!"
"Devour Heaven and Earth!"
A terrifying demonic aura gathered in the void above Gu Qingfeng, eventually forming a massive gate resembling the entrance to the underworld.
Boom!
The gate of the underworld swung open.
Countless ghastly hands wrapped in chains stretched out from within, accompanied by the rattling of iron links. Defying the constraints of time and space, the spectral hands seized the fleeing immortals and dragged them mercilessly into the abyssal gate.
"No!!"
"Save me!"
The immortals wailed and struggled desperately, but their efforts were futile against the spectral hands. One by one, they were hauled into the gate.
Boom!
The gate of the underworld slammed shut, sealing away the two realms before gradually fading into nothingness.
This was Gu Qingfeng’s new application of Devour Heaven and Earth—merging demonic arts with his trillion-year cultivation to manifest the terrifying gate of the underworld, enabling him to consume living beings on a massive scale.
The demonic path formed the gate, Devour Heaven and Earth conjured the spectral hands, and his boundless cultivation provided an inexhaustible energy source.
Truth be told, this technique was incredibly powerful but drained energy rapidly. Fortunately, Gu Qingfeng’s reserves were nearly limitless.
The inspiration had come from these fleeing immortals—chasing them down one by one was tedious, so he combined his abilities to turn a single-target attack into an area-of-effect slaughter, multiplying its lethality.
He owed these immortals a debt of gratitude for their sacrifice.
To commemorate their noble contribution, Gu Qingfeng named this technique [Underworld’s Grasp].
Well, the name had nothing to do with the immortals, but it was indeed meant to honor them.
With the minor nuisances dealt with, Gu Qingfeng turned his gaze toward Shangguan Qing’s curvaceous figure, a wicked smirk playing on his lips.
"Why did you kill all of them?" Shangguan Qing demanded, her eyes blazing with fury.
Ignoring her, Gu Qingfeng tilted his head toward her sister, Shangguan Wan'er, and asked, "Is she really your blood sister? Doesn’t seem like it."
"She’s nothing but a hypocritical bitch!"
"Wan'er, you—!" Shangguan Qing grew even angrier.
But at that moment, a streak of sword light pierced through the sky, defying the boundaries of space and time as it hovered above them.
In the void above stood an ethereal figure, poised gracefully atop a celestial sword. She was draped in flowing white robes that shimmered like a dream, her cascading black hair falling to her slender waist. Her long, shapely legs extended elegantly, and the glimpse of her ankles beneath the hem of her skirt gleamed like polished ivory.
Gu Qingfeng found her familiar. Then Shangguan Wan'er suddenly gasped, "Master!"
Master?
Ah, now he remembered—this was Shangguan Wan'er’s master, the one he had obliterated with a single strike before.
Back then, she had appeared as a projection, exuding an air of unshakable serenity, declaring, "Don’t panic, the heavens won’t fall." And then the heavens promptly collapsed.
"Fairy Miaohua!" Shangguan Qing also exclaimed in shock.
Fairy Miaohua remained as composed as ever, like an immortal observing the mortal realm from the clouds, untouched by the passage of time.
Her gaze swept indifferently across the scene as she spoke, "Wan'er, during this time—Ah! You scoundrel, what are you doing?!"
Before she could finish, Fairy Miaohua’s expression twisted in alarm. She immediately clamped her legs together, pressed her hands tightly against her skirt, and fled in haste.
Beneath her flying sword, Gu Qingfeng shadowed her effortlessly, enjoying the view.
"You shameless rogue, get away from me!" Fairy Miaohua fled in disarray—this was the first time she regretted wearing a skirt while sword-riding.
"So the fairy prefers wearing red—"
Boom!
Before Gu Qingfeng could finish, a violet lightning-infused sword shot straight for his face.
Clang!
With a casual wave of his hand, the sword was deflected amid a metallic clang. Glancing at the purple arcs crackling around his fingers, Gu Qingfeng smirked. "Such a violent fairy. Beneath that icy exterior lies a fiery heart—just like your choice of red—"
"Perish, you lecher!"
Fairy Miaohua’s face burned crimson with fury, her delicate ears and snow-white neck flushing pink with humiliation.
Gu Qingfeng found it amusing—moments ago, she had been the picture of transcendent grace, aloof and untouchable. Now, her face was redder than a monkey’s backside.
Boom—!
In her rage, Fairy Miaohua channeled her full cultivation into the violet sword and unleashed it skyward with a cry.
Instantly, the heavens darkened. Thunder roared, and the clouds churned with countless violet lightning serpents, writhing like dragons.
The next moment, a dazzling cascade of violet lightning descended—a spectacle so terrifying it could make one’s scalp crawl, as if the world itself were ending.
An overwhelming aura of destruction permeated the land.
Gu Qingfeng narrowed his eyes, a hint of doubt surfacing.
Is this the legendary power of an Earth Immortal?
It doesn’t seem all that impressive.
Or perhaps Fairy Miaohua has taken a liking to this emperor and is holding back?
Maybe the real killing move is hidden within the lightning?
As he pondered, the violet lightning struck, engulfing him completely in its radiance.
Shangguan Wan'er watched the scene with mixed emotions.
On one hand, she longed to break free from Gu Qingfeng’s control. Yet, deep down, a part of her craved the sensation of being dominated—the shame and pleasure intertwined, the paradoxical ecstasy of pain and submission. It was addictive.
Nearby, Fairy Miaohua’s eyes gleamed with satisfaction as she watched Gu Qingfeng vanish within the lightning.
But in that moment of distraction, an imperceptible ripple disturbed the void behind her.
A phantom-like figure materialized at her back, wielding a pitch-black dagger aimed straight for her heart.
The ambush was executed flawlessly—too fast for anyone to react. Fairy Miaohua was lost in vengeful triumph, while the Shangguan sisters were awestruck by the Earth Immortal’s might. No one noticed the assassin’s approach.
The timing, the angle—everything was perfect.
The shadow of death loomed over Fairy Miaohua, her face paling in horror.
