Establishment of the Demonic Cult
"Fellow cultivators, after enduring countless battles, Gu Qingfeng must be at the end of his rope. With just a few more of you joining forces, he will surely fall!" The quasi-Emperor from the Fallen Feather Clan refused to give up, still shouting for aid.
Yet no one came to her rescue.
Some might arrive—but only after she and her companions perished, using their lives to exhaust Gu Qingfeng. Once the battle ended and Gu Qingfeng showed even the slightest sign of weakness, the hidden forces lurking in the shadows would undoubtedly swarm him.
"Keh keh keh... Little beauty, you’re quite the screamer. But when it comes to swaying hearts, you’re still far from skilled. Allow this Emperor to demonstrate."
With that, Gu Qingfeng swept his gaze across the void and declared, "Listen well, all of you! The invasion of the demonic heavens is the inevitable tide of fate. Not even the Heavenly Emperor can stop it—for while there is only one Heavenly Emperor, this time, three demonic lords descend upon us!
The Heart Demon Lord, the Longevity Demon Lord, and the Oath Demon Lord!
What hope does the Cangming Realm have to resist?"
His words plunged the world into silence. Many had known of the impending invasion, but none had expected three demonic lords instead of one. Could the Heavenly Emperor truly withstand three? Doubt gnawed at their faith.
Gu Qingfeng pressed on, "Even if the Heavenly Emperor could hold them off, the demonic lords are immortal, while the Emperor’s lifespan is finite. While he lives, the Cangming Realm may remain safe—but once he perishes, what then?
What will you use to resist?
Sooner or later, the Cangming Realm will fall to the demonic heavens. No matter how fiercely you struggle, it’s futile!
Wouldn’t it be wiser to submit to this Emperor—"
"Gu Qingfeng! Empty words mean nothing! Who says there are three demonic lords?" A voice echoed through the void, its origin and gender impossible to discern.
"Open your wretched eyes and see for yourselves!" Gu Qingfeng sneered. Three distinct demonic energies surged from his body—proof of the Heart, Longevity, and Oath Demon Lords’ power.
The quasi-Emperors observing recognized the authenticity of these forces. Stunned, they fell silent.
The void trembled with eerie stillness.
Seeing no further objections, Gu Qingfeng continued, "As the saying goes, a wise man submits to fate. This Emperor intends to establish the Demonic Heaven Sect. All who join shall be under my protection.
When the demonic heavens descend upon the Cangming Realm, none of you will suffer harm.
You all know my relationship with the demonic lords—we are kin. By joining my sect, you too shall become family.
And family does not fight family."
His words stirred many, particularly weaker cultivators below the quasi-Emperor realm. These were individuals with no hope of becoming the Heavenly Emperor, destined to be cannon fodder when the invasion came. Even ants cling to life—how much more so those who had cultivated for countless years?
Who would spend a lifetime striving for greatness only to throw it away?
If you can’t beat them, join them. Is that so wrong?
Not at all.
Then Gu Qingfeng delivered the final blow, swaying even the quasi-Emperors.
"Moreover, the benefits of joining my Demonic Heaven Sect surpass your wildest dreams. As you know, the demonic lords are immortal—and as you’ve witnessed in my battles, so am I.
The Heavenly Emperor cannot escape death, but by joining my sect, you may grasp the secret of eternal life!
In time, I will select the most loyal and capable among you to enter the demonic heavens, transforming into true demonic beings—ageless, deathless, everlasting!"
The word "immortality" struck the quasi-Emperors like a hammer.
Who wouldn’t crave eternal life?
Why else would they fight so desperately for the Heavenly Emperor’s throne?
Merely to prolong their existence.
Yet even the Heavenly Emperor would die—while the demonic lords never would.
Earlier, Gu Qingfeng’s promises had only tempted those below the quasi-Emperor realm. Most quasi-Emperors were already at the end of their lifespans, with few newly ascended.
They had feared nothing from the demonic lords because they might not live to see the invasion. But now, with immortality dangled before them—who could resist?
Even if Gu Qingfeng’s claims were lies... the mere possibility of eternal life was too alluring to ignore.
Becoming the Heavenly Emperor still meant eventual death. But joining the Demonic Heaven Sect? That might unlock the secret of the demonic lords’ immortality. Which was the greater temptation?
A cold voice suddenly cut through the void. "Hmph! Easier said than done. This so-called immortality would turn us into monsters, no different from the demonic lords!"
"Keh keh keh... Monsters? You’ve lurked in the shadows for millennia, living like corpses. Compared to the free and mighty demonic lords, who is the real monster?"
The voice fell silent.
"Besides, how can the demonic lords be called monsters? They are evolution! The ascension of life itself! Your so-called races, flesh, and forms are nothing but primitive existence compared to the transcendent beings of the demonic heavens.
Ants see humans as monsters—but do humans even glance at ants?"
Gu Qingfeng spoke with fanatical fervor, like a zealot preaching divine truth.
His words shook the crowd.
He was right.
Were they not like ants gazing upon humans?
Ants might view humans as grotesque, never comprehending the pleasures beyond their grasp.
Many wavered further—especially the weaker quasi-Emperors with no hope of claiming the Heavenly Emperor’s throne. Their attempts to tread the Emperor’s Path had been desperate gambles.
But now, another path lay before them—one even more enticing.
Suddenly, a distant voice cried out.
"Great Sect Master! I wish to join the Demonic Heaven Sect!"
A Heavenly Venerable rushed forward, prostrating himself before Gu Qingfeng.
Gu Qingfeng nodded approvingly. "Good. Swear your loyalty."
The man hastily recited a binding oath.
"Since you are the first to join, though your strength is lacking, your devotion is commendable. This Sect Master names you the Right Protector of the Demonic Heaven Sect!"
"Many thanks, Great Sect Master!"
"Great Sect Master! We too wish to join! Grant us this honor!"
Streaks of light descended from the heavens—all Venerables of the highest order.
Gu Qingfeng laughed heartily, accepting them one after another, demanding oaths and bestowing titles.
More and more arrived, wave upon wave. In mere moments, over a hundred Heavenly Venerables had pledged allegiance.
Gu Qingfeng’s grin widened, though inwardly he fretted: Hurry up and send some real fighters, or this Sect Master will run out of puppets soon.
The herd mentality took hold.
Witnessing the spectacle, countless others could no longer resist and flocked to join the Demonic Heaven Sect.
Yet Gu Qingfeng was selective. Those below the Venerable realm were swiftly dismissed.
Far from discouraging the masses, his exclusivity only fueled their desperation to join.
The Heart Demon Lord and his three sworn demonic allies would never have imagined in their wildest dreams that, despite having severed all ties with the Cangming Realm, they still couldn’t escape Gu Qingfeng’s relentless exploitation. Who could they even complain to about this injustice?
