Become One with the Deity
Lin Miaoke saw that her palm strike had failed to subdue her opponent, and the demonic glint in her eyes intensified. She immediately formed her delicate hand into a sword-finger stance and viciously thrust toward Gu Qingfeng’s heart.
Gu Qingfeng recognized this move—the Formless Sword Finger, one of the Sword Sect’s divine techniques, renowned for its unparalleled destructive power!
"Come at me!"
Yet, just as Gu Qingfeng’s heart surged with exhilaration, a flicker of struggle flashed across Lin Miaoke’s face.
Suddenly, she reached out with her left hand, gripping her right wrist tightly, forcibly stopping the Formless Sword Finger mid-execution.
"Junior Brother Gu, run! I can’t hold on much longer!"
"I won’t leave! Senior Sister Lin, what’s happening to you? I won’t abandon you here alone." Gu Qingfeng’s face was a mix of urgency and deep concern.
Lin Miaoke nearly lost her mind in frustration.
How could he still ask what was wrong at a time like this? Run, you fool!
Her anger gave the inner demon another opening, and she felt her control slipping once more.
"Go and fetch the Sect Leader, now!"
Gu Qingfeng’s expression darkened at the mention of Dugu Wei. That old man? No way was he letting that meddler interfere.
"No! If I leave, what will happen to you? You’ve always treated me with kindness, Senior Sister. I refuse to abandon you."
"You—! I’ll kill you!"
Lin Miaoke roared, her eyes flooding with crimson light, her fair face twisting into a grotesque snarl.
The Formless Sword Finger finally unleashed.
Boom!
A streak of sword light erupted like divine thunder splitting the heavens, its terrifying force setting the very void ablaze!
Ding!
Host has been attacked by Lin Miaoke (Demonic Possession State).
Congratulations, host’s cultivation has advanced: Human Yuan Divine Core—Seventh Heaven, Eighth Heaven, Ninth Heaven, Peak!
Gu Qingfeng felt his divine power surge violently. His Human Yuan Divine Core spun wildly, expanding rapidly as his realm skyrocketed to the peak of Human Yuan!
This was way better than bitter cultivation!
Gu Qingfeng nearly howled in ecstasy—until he remembered Ling Fei’er. Well… maybe bitter cultivation wasn’t so bad after all.
After releasing the sword finger, Lin Miaoke regained a sliver of clarity as her emotions found some release.
She didn’t have time to wonder why Gu Qingfeng remained unharmed, assuming he must have some protective treasure. Desperately, she shouted, "Junior Brother Gu, I can’t overcome this demonic tribulation. I’m about to lose myself completely. Go and find the Sect Leader before I slaughter everyone in the Sword Sect!"
"Don’t panic, Senior Sister. Let me help you through this tribulation."
Lin Miaoke was frantic. "The Five Heavenly Tribulations are ordained by fate! Only the afflicted can endure them. Outside interference will only worsen the calamity. You’re the Sword Sect’s Imperial Son—you cannot die by my hand. Go!"
"Senior Sister, I possess the Four Saintly Physiques. A mere demonic tribulation can’t touch me. I will save you!"
"Will you leave or not?!" Lin Miaoke was both furious and moved—angry at his stubbornness, yet deeply touched that he would risk his life for her.
Seeing that reasoning was futile, and terrified of killing him, she steeled herself and pointed the sword finger at her own head.
Gu Qingfeng was genuinely shocked. He hadn’t expected Lin Miaoke to be so resolute—preferring death over demonic possession.
Though inwardly lamenting the waste, he acted swiftly, gripping her delicate wrist to stop her.
"Let go! Or you’ll die!" Lin Miaoke struggled, but most of her strength was locked in battle with the inner demon. She couldn’t break free.
Seizing the moment, Gu Qingfeng closed the distance, pressing close until their eyes met. His spirit surged forth, invading her inner world through their locked gazes.
Inside, Lin Miaoke’s psyche was nearly consumed by darkness, save for a tiny flicker of light—like a candle flame on the verge of being snuffed out by the wind.
Within that fragile light stood two versions of Lin Miaoke—one clad in white, the other in black.
The white-clad Lin Miaoke looked desperate, barely holding on.
The black-clad one radiated demonic energy, grinning savagely as she relentlessly attacked, each strike injecting more corruption into her counterpart.
Their reactions to Gu Qingfeng’s arrival were starkly different.
The white Lin Miaoke paled in horror. The black one’s grin widened.
"Junior Brother Gu, get out!"
"You dare interfere in a demonic tribulation? You have a death wish!"
As the black Lin Miaoke spoke, an unspeakably evil presence surged from the void.
A terrifying black hole materialized, its edges leaking demonic energy as if connected to the abyss itself.
Suddenly, a mass of black mist shot out, landing before Gu Qingfeng. Upon contact, it morphed—twisting into a perfect replica of himself.
This demonic doppelgänger was wreathed in malevolent energy, its grin predatory as it eyed Gu Qingfeng like a starving wolf.
"Today, I shall replace you!" the demonic Gu Qingfeng cackled.
"Keh keh keh..."
Gu Qingfeng finally couldn’t hold back. His face twisted into a grotesque smile, lips stretching unnaturally to bare his teeth in a ravenous snarl.
"So you’re my inner demon? Perfect! Come, merge with this lord!"
His eyes glowed with eerie green light as he raked his gaze over the demon, sizing it up like a starving beast eyeing its prey—ready to devour it whole, bones and all.
The demonic Gu Qingfeng’s confidence faltered.
For the first time, it wondered—who was the real demon here?
Before it could ponder further, Gu Qingfeng lunged.
The demon recoiled, lashing out with torrents of demonic energy.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Host is under attack by inner demon.
Demonic Power +1000+1000+1000+......
"What?! No damage? Impossible!" The demon’s eyes bulged as it stared at the monstrous Gu Qingfeng, instinctively retreating.
But Gu Qingfeng wasn’t about to let it escape. He pounced, slamming the demon to the ground.
His hands clawed frantically at the demon’s essence, his voice dripping with greed.
"Mine! All this demonic energy is mine! More! Give me more!!"
Terror gripped the demon as it flailed wildly, striking Gu Qingfeng again and again—each hit only triggering more euphoric system chimes.
Gu Qingfeng’s grin grew even more deranged.
"Not enough! Faster! Harder!"
No longer content to wait, he began tearing into the demon’s form like a ravenous ghoul, stuffing handfuls of demonic energy into his mouth.
If the demon’s method was slow corruption, he’d just speed things up by feasting on it directly.
The demon was petrified. Since when did humans devour demons instead of the other way around?
