The Descent of the Holy Emissary
The Elephant Demon struggled to suppress the boundless fury in his heart, forcing himself to maintain a composed expression. But the group of divine-realm demons only grew more vicious in their insults, their language increasingly crude.
This was the mentality of someone with nothing left to lose.
At first, though they had no choice but to curse under Gu Qingfeng’s threats, they still held back, not daring to go too far. But as the insults dragged on, they began to think: Since we’ve already offended him, and we’re dead either way, why not enjoy ourselves while we can? When else will we get the chance to curse an upper-realm holy envoy like this?
Soon, they weren’t satisfied with taking turns—they started egging each other on.
"Hey, let me tell you guys something. Last time this idiot came down to our realm, I specially arranged for him a female elephant demon. You know what she told me afterward?"
"What?"
"Heh, she said this moron couldn’t even perform! Didn’t even take off his pants—just relied on that long nose of his!"
"With his nose?! Hahaha! Damn, I’m dying!"
"Tsk tsk tsk, how can you laugh at the holy envoy like this? It’s not that he can’t—it’s called nobility. You savages wouldn’t understand! Using the lower half is so vulgar. A noble demon uses the upper half!"
"HAHAHAHA—"
The demons roared with laughter.
Gu Qingfeng was also beside himself with amusement. Hmm, this demon lackey has talent. Might be worth cultivating later.
By now, the Elephant Demon couldn’t take it anymore. His face twisted between shades of green and white as hundreds of jeering voices drilled into his ears, threatening to split his skull open.
Especially since what they said was true.
As the saying goes: Mock a man, but never his weakness—hit a sore spot, and he’ll snap.
And snap he did.
Rage had completely overtaken him. All the composure he’d faked earlier—I don’t care, it doesn’t bother me—was tossed to the wind.
Even a Buddha would lose his temper after being insulted like this!
"SHUT UP! ALL OF YOU, SHUT THE HELL UP!"
A thunderous roar erupted from the stone mirror, shaking the entire chamber like an earthquake.
The demons froze, momentarily stunned.
But Gu Qingfeng only grinned. "Oh ho! He’s mad! He’s mad!"
The demons quickly caught on and resumed their mockery. "What’s this? The noble holy envoy can get angry too?"
"Look at him! His face is turning red! Hahaha—"
"His nose’s standing straight up now! Wonder if it was like that with the elephant demoness that night—"
"AAAAARGH! YOU WRETCHED, LOWLY VERMIN! I’LL KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!"
The Elephant Demon had completely lost it. His entire body trembled like an erupting volcano—his trunk rigid, his fan-like ears flaring, hot steam puffing from his nostrils.
The sheer murderous fury in his voice sent a flicker of fear through the demons.
But Gu Qingfeng just smiled. "Relax. He’s all bark, no bite. Too scared to actually come down here and fight. Keep cursing—whoever goes the hardest, I’ll set them free."
The promise of freedom was like injecting them with adrenaline. The demons immediately doubled down, spewing filth with renewed vigor.
If they’d had keyboards, a few might’ve ascended to the legendary Land Tyrant Key Immortal realm right then and there.
"Good! Good! GOOD!" The Elephant Demon’s voice trembled with barely contained rage as he spat out the words.
"You think I don’t dare come down, you filthy animals? FINE! JUST YOU WAIT!!!"
Bzzt!
The call disconnected.

Upper Realm
Blinded by fury, the Elephant Demon no longer cared about the fortune in spirit stones he’d painstakingly saved. He grabbed his entire stash and stormed to the inter-realm teleportation array.
Slamming the stones into the formation, he frantically wove hand seals to activate it—as if even a second’s delay was unbearable.
Never in his life had he been this enraged. The humiliation was enough to make him vomit blood.
Right now, he didn’t care if he ended up penniless. He had to descend.
He would kill them. Every last one of those who’d insulted him—human or demon—would die!
Finally, the seals completed. The spirit stones drained of energy as a soft white glow enveloped the array.
Slowly, the light swallowed the Elephant Demon’s towering form.
Then, with a flash, he vanished.

Qing Realm
Gu Qingfeng stared at the disconnected call, frowning. That Elephant Demon better not be bluffing.
He’d clearly said "Just you wait!" before hanging up. With how furious he looked, he’d probably meant an in-person confrontation.
But he hadn’t specified when. What if "waiting" meant a year?
If the Elephant Demon could hold out that long, he’d outlast even the Green Demon Emperor in patience. Unlikely.
Still, Gu Qingfeng wasn’t taking chances. He redialed.
The stone mirror flickered, but no one answered.
Just then, one of the demon lackeys nervously approached. "M-Master… the holy envoy is coming. What do we do?"
Gu Qingfeng shot him a sidelong glance. "What do we do? Weren’t you the one cursing the loudest just now? And now you’re asking me?"
The demon stiffened, forcing a bitter smile. Wasn’t it you who told us to curse him?
But he didn’t dare say it aloud.
"Enough. All of you, return."
With a wave, Gu Qingfeng stored the demons in his dimensional space. He then returned to the surface, casually perching on a broken boulder.
He’d wait a while.
If the Elephant Demon didn’t show soon, he’d have his lackeys spam-call the stone mirror 24/7 until the bastard came down.
Yeah. That’ll do.
Just as he settled on the plan—
BOOM!
A thunderclap split the sky.
Gu Qingfeng’s head snapped up. Forked bolts of blue-white lightning streaked across the heavens.
Then, the winds howled. Clouds churned. The once-clear sky darkened in an instant, as if a storm were gathering.
The air grew heavy, pressing down like the sky itself was sinking toward the earth.
And above the imperial palace—an overwhelming spatial distortion erupted.
Thud.
Gu Qingfeng shot to his feet, eyes locked on the sky, a manic grin splitting his face.
"Keh… keh… keh…"
The gale whipped his black hair and robes wildly, the flickering lightning casting his handsome features in shifting light and shadow.
"Finally… he’s here."
As if responding to his words—
CRACK!
A deafening roar tore through the air.
Then, the impossible happened.
The void itself began to split—forming a colossal gateway.
A towering portal, hundreds of feet tall and dozens wide.
(Sorry everyone, here I am shamelessly apologizing again. Yesterday, I might have drunk some fake liquor—I thought since it's the New Year, I'd treat myself to something nice and grabbed a bottle at half price during a sale. Ended up with a headache all day, damn it!
But that's not the important part. What matters is wishing you all a Happy New Year! May the new year bring you everything you desire, smooth sailing, prosperity, and success in finding love!
Also, may our great motherland forever thrive and prosper, with every citizen soaring like a dragon!
P.S. Updates might be slower during the holiday as things get busy. Thanks for your understanding!)
