Divine Emissary from the Upper Realm

The Green Demon Emperor stared blankly at the gentle-faced man before him, listening to his encouraging words. Slowly, the darkness and despair in his heart began to fade.

But what replaced them was... an overwhelming fury!!

The Azure Demon Emperor had never hated anyone so intensely in his life—until now.

Demons were inherently cruel and wicked, and as their emperor, he was the worst of them all.

Yet now he realized that compared to this man, he was practically a saint.

This man wasn’t human!

He was more demonic than the demons themselves!

Back then, when he treated the human divine realms like livestock, he had never stooped to such depths. But this man’s actions were a hundred times more despicable than his own.

He had shattered his body, mind, family, and everything he possessed—utterly destroyed!

Even demons knew not to kill the goose that laid the golden eggs. Though they plundered human populations, humanity still thrived and prospered.

The Ten Thousand Demon Kingdom even deliberately concealed the truth of the world, allowing humans to live carefree lives.

Knowing humans were prone to infighting, they had separated the four great human dynasties to prevent war among them.

But what about Gu Qingfeng?!

He was tyrannical, treacherous, utterly without principles—unfathomably vile!

The demon blood on his hands surpassed the human blood on the Azure Demon Emperor’s own.

Humanity had flourished under his rule, but the demon race had been utterly ruined by Gu Qingfeng!

An endless rage surged from the depths of his chest.

"Ah! I’ll kill you!"

Bam!

The Azure Demon Emperor slammed his fist into Gu Qingfeng’s chest.

Splat!

The recoil sent him stumbling back, blood spraying from his mouth.

Gu Qingfeng smiled. "It’s useless. Your only chance now is to contact the Holy Race. I know you don’t want to follow your enemy’s orders, but this is your only hope.

Think carefully. Will you stubbornly endure your hatred, or will you stake everything and call upon the Holy Race for revenge?"

"Bastard!"

Bam! Bam! Bam!

The Azure Demon Emperor struck again and again.

Splat...

The blood he coughed up pooled on the ground into a small puddle.

His face twisted in fury, a flicker of hesitation flashing in his eyes. But as time passed, that hesitation hardened into resolve.

The Azure Demon Emperor didn’t know why Gu Qingfeng wanted the Holy Race to descend, but it didn’t matter anymore.

What mattered was revenge.

And his only chance for revenge lay with the Holy Race.

Even if summoning them meant his own death, even if he would never ascend to the upper realm—he no longer cared. He had nothing left to lose.

Nothing at all.

"Oh?" Gu Qingfeng’s smile deepened as he saw the Azure Demon Emperor finally make his decision.

Abruptly, the demon emperor stood, wiping the blood from his lips with the back of his hand. His eyes were icy, lifeless, as he cast one last glance at Gu Qingfeng before turning silently toward the ruined palace.

Gu Qingfeng followed without a word.

The palace had long been reduced to rubble in the war.

The two mortal enemies walked through the ruins, one after the other.

Soon, the Azure Demon Emperor stopped. He surveyed the wreckage before him, then swept his arm outward, clearing away the debris.

Beneath it lay a stone slab covered in intricate, arcane patterns.

Placing his hand upon it, he activated the formation.

The patterns lit up one by one, glowing with an azure radiance.

Boom!

The engravings vanished, and the slab slid open, revealing a dark passage leading deep underground.

Without a backward glance at Gu Qingfeng, the Azure Demon Emperor leaped inside.

Gu Qingfeng followed without hesitation. He wasn’t afraid of traps—in fact, he was disappointed there weren’t any.

The passage was long and narrow, lined with luminous pearls that illuminated the way—a display of extravagance.

As he ventured deeper, Gu Qingfeng casually pocketed the pearls along the way.

No sense letting them go to waste.

Soon, as the passage plunged into darkness, they arrived before a stone chamber, its entrance sealed with dense arrays and restrictions.

The Azure Demon Emperor formed a series of hand seals, and moments later, the chamber door swung open.

Inside, the room was empty save for a single stone pillar rising from the floor, about a meter tall.

Carved with countless patterns, its flat top held a stone mirror the size of a washbasin.

Gu Qingfeng’s eyes gleamed. This must be the means to contact the upper realm.

Under his watchful gaze, the Azure Demon Emperor approached the mirror and began tapping it rhythmically, then traced a complex pattern with his demonic energy—like unlocking a tablet.

Gu Qingfeng memorized the sequence in a single glance.

Once the unlocking was complete, the mirror erupted in a blinding flash, shooting a beam of light straight into the sky.

Gu Qingfeng looked up. Though walls blocked the way, his vision pierced through effortlessly.

The beam soared higher and higher, piercing the clouds and vanishing into the distance.

The two waited in silence.

After about the time it took to burn an incense stick, the mirror changed again.

The light flickered as if disturbed, then dissipated entirely. The mirror’s surface rippled like water.

Fzzzt!

With a soft sound, an image appeared.

Finally!

Suppressing his excitement, Gu Qingfeng peered at the figure now displayed—a demon clad in black armor, with the body of a man and the face of an elephant.

...That’s it?!

So the Holy Race is just elephant demons?!

They look no different from the demons down here!

Disappointment washed over him. He had imagined the Holy Race as majestic, terrifying creatures of legend—like the Taotie, the Qiongqi, the Kunpeng, or demonic dragons.

But instead, it was just some freak with a trunk for a face?!

The greater the expectation, the greater the letdown.

Still, appearances could be deceiving. Maybe they were stronger than they looked.

They were upper-realm demons, after all.

"Greetings, Holy Envoy!" The Azure Demon Emperor’s voice trembled with excitement, as if vengeance was within reach.

The elephant demon in the mirror exuded cold authority.

"Hm."

He acknowledged with a grunt, briefly glancing at Gu Qingfeng but dismissing him as a subordinate.

Then, frowning, he said, "Azure Demon Emperor, I told you not to use the mirror for trivial matters. State your purpose. If this is insignificant, you will bear the consequences."

The Azure Demon Emperor, like a wronged child finally facing a parent, blurted out, "Holy Envoy! The Ten Thousand Demon Kingdom is gone! All your sheepdogs—wiped out!"

"What?!" The elephant demon’s face darkened instantly. "Who did this?! With the upper-realm techniques I bestowed upon you, no one in the Qing Realm should be a match! How could you be destroyed?"
