You Can Have My Body, But Not My Heart

The next day.

"You may have taken my body, but you'll never possess my heart!"

As Gu Qingfeng listened to the White Fox Queen's dramatic line, he couldn't shake off a strange sense of déjà vu.

"Why would I want your heart? What use is that thing?"

The White Fox Queen froze momentarily before gritting her teeth in fury. "You bastard! You're not even human—just a monster wearing human skin!"

Gu Qingfeng was taken aback by her accusation. "Hey now, shouldn’t I be the one saying that? Between the two of us, who’s really the monster in disguise? Don’t you have any self-awareness?"

"Hmph! The world only fears the wickedness of demons, yet they fail to see that human hearts are a hundred times more treacherous!"

Slap!

A sharp strike landed on the White Fox Queen’s delicate face, leaving a vivid red mark.

"Cut the theatrics, you damn fox spirit. Weren’t you all too happy helping the Sacred Clan abduct people?"

"You hit me! You struck a woman! Are you even a man?!" the White Fox Queen shrieked, clutching her cheek.

"Once the Sacred Clan descends, they’ll never let you—gurk!"

Before she could finish, a large hand clamped around her slender, pale neck.

Her face flushed crimson as she thrashed wildly, but it was futile.

Gu Qingfeng calmly watched her peach-blossom eyes—first filled with shock and hatred, then gradually overtaken by sheer terror as the seconds dragged on.

"Next time, think carefully before you speak. Remember, a weakling’s defiance only means they’re ready to die. So tell me… are you ready?"

His soft, almost tender tone sounded like a lover’s whisper, but to the White Fox Queen, it was the chilling voice of a vengeful ghost from the depths of hell.

In that instant, her entire body turned ice-cold, as if plunged into an abyss.

She realized this man wasn’t like the others—he wouldn’t tolerate her antics just because of her beauty.

She had always been confident, believing no man could bring himself to kill her, no matter how grave her mistakes.

But now, for the first time, that confidence wavered.

This man, though more lustful than any other, was also colder and crueler than anyone she’d ever met.

Defying him truly meant death.

"P-please… spare…" she gasped, struggling for breath.

Suddenly, the grip loosened.

"Hah… hah…" The White Fox Queen gulped down air greedily, clinging to life.

"Here’s your chance to live," Gu Qingfeng said indifferently. "Swear loyalty to me as your master, and you’ll survive."

Without hesitation, she began reciting an oath.

But Gu Qingfeng frowned. "Not good enough. Make it nastier."

"Is ‘struck by lightning and die horribly’ not enough?!"

"Women care most about their looks. Change it to: ‘If I betray you, may my face fester, my feet rot, my skin ulcerate, and my body reek of decay…’"

Each vile phrase made the White Fox Queen tremble. Her beauty was her pride—this oath was pure torment.

Yet, under his threat, she had no choice but to comply.

It’s just words, she reassured herself. It’s not real.

But the moment she finished the oath, her face paled in horror.

A glowing thread of binding had formed between her and Gu Qingfeng.

"You—you’re a Voidfiend?!"

He didn’t bother explaining. "All you need to know is that I’m your master now."

The White Fox Queen wept silently. The truth was undeniable—his words no longer mattered.

Her limbs turned cold with dread. She was doomed—not just because of his identity, but because the price of betrayal was unthinkable. The mere image of herself disfigured made her shudder.

"Stop your damn crying. I can’t stand sniveling women—it’s bad luck."

Terrified, she hastily wiped her tears with delicate fingers.

"Tell me," Gu Qingfeng demanded. "Aside from the Azure Demon Emperor, is there anyone else in the Ten Thousand Demon Kingdom who can contact the Sacred Clan?"

She shook her head timidly. "No one else."

His brow furrowed. "Then what does the Azure Demon Emperor care about most?"

"Me."

"Bullshit! If he cared, why hasn’t he called the Sacred Clan?"

"Because he’s afraid! The Sacred Clan is ruthless—they don’t see us demons as kin. If His—if the Azure Demon Emperor contacted them over this, they’d slaughter him the moment they descended!"

"So he’d rather let you suffer than risk his own neck? That’s what you call ‘care’?"

The White Fox Queen paused. Now that she thought about it… he was right.

That man had sworn his love for her, yet he wouldn’t even die for her.

Was that really love?
