Chapter 3142 Obvious
Chapter 3142 Obvious
The woman remained silent for a long moment before a wide grin appeared on her face.
“My… you really did figure out who I am. I did not expect that from you.”
Alex smiled back. “I am honored to be complimented by you, Matriarch.”
“Oh, don’t go calling me that. I was enjoying the anonymity too. Still, I must say I am very surprised. I promised I would give you something in return for hitting me and surprising me, but you figured out
everything I was going to. Is there anything you want from me?”
Alex thought for a moment. “Your Axiom. How does it work exactly?” he asked.
“How does an Axiom work? Or how does my Axiom work?” she asked. “If I’m understanding correctly, your Axiom makes it so that you, as an aquatic beast, are forever the fastest creature when in water. But how does that reflect on land?” he asked.
“It’s simple,” the matriarch said. “I am the fastest wherever there is water in my surroundings.”
Alex blinked. “We’re on top of a hill with no river or pond in the surroundings.”
“Sure, but there is water in the air. There is humidity here, so there is water. And wherever there is water, I am the fastest. You can slow down time or do anything to stop me, but you will never be faster than me so long as my Axiom is active,” she said. “And at my current cultivation base, it is always active.”
Alex frowned for a long moment, wanting to tell the woman just how wrong she was. Just because there was water in the air didn’t mean it was the same thing as when it was in a lake or in the ocean. An
aquatic beast would not survive here at all, so how could it count? It just didn’t make sense.
Only, Alex then realized that it didn’t have to make sense. It never had to make sense. One just had to believe in something, and it would be their Axiom.
The woman believed what she believed with all her heart, and since she did, reality itself twisted to obey her Axiom.
That was just how powerful Axioms were.
“Is that all you want to ask?” the Black Tortoise matriarch asked.
“Yes,” Alex said. “I mean, aside from the obvious question of why you wanted to meet me.”
The woman raised her eyebrows. “I thought the answer was obvious too. It’s because of who you are.”
“Who… I am?” Alex asked. “A human?”
“The Sun God.”
Alex’s eyes widened suddenly. “How… How could you know that? No one else is supposed to know that.”
The woman giggled. “I see that I was right.”
“How…”
“Don’t worry. Rinzhou just gave away a bit more than she intended in her letter, is all.”
“The Vermilion Bird matriarch’s letter?” Alex thought. He wondered what she wrote in it and if he could ask her. Probably not.
“I guess I must apologize then,” Alex said. “You probably wanted to see me perform something only the Sun God can, but sadly I’m not the Sun God just yet, so whatever he was capable of doing, I am not.”
“Huh? I thought you were just hiding it,” the woman said. “I wanted to see what you could do without revealing myself. Can you really not do anything?”
“I can do a few things, but not enough to be of proof,” Alex said. “I must apologize as I’ve wasted your time, senior.”
“Well, it is a little sad to hear that,” the woman said. “But I can say that I’ve far from wasted my time. What you’ve shown me is enough to make me believe you are the Sun God even without proof. Although, I shouldn’t do that.”
Alex gave a soft nod in appreciation.
“Still,” the woman continued. “I must ask how you were able to persuade the Vermilion Bird matriarch that you were the Sun God, or at least had the potential to be one. Could you not do the same for
me?”
“I ate a Divine-grade poison,” Alex said. “One of the abilities my Sun God’s body gives me is the power to eradicate anything foreign inside my body, including poisons.”
“Oh? And what else?”
Alex thought for a moment. “This is one too.” His yang aura filled his
body, making him vanish from her senses. “It’s something only I can do, I believe. At least, I haven’t come across anyone else that can do
the same.”
There had been his master with a similar power, and now Shumi too, but he thought it better not to bring up Moon Goddess just yet.
“That is… true,” the woman said. “I thought it was a powerful technique you had learned, but if it’s an ability that came with your physique, then I can see how you are the Sun God.”
“Still, that’s not enough evidence,” Alex said. “I plan on changing that too. Very soon!”
He didn’t spill the fact that his body was close to evolving. While he did find himself trusting her, given that she had done nothing to him in the past 3 years they had interacted, he still was conscious of what he told others and what he kept behind.
The White Tiger patriarch was scared to no end after what the Sun
God did to him, so Alex knew he could trust that beast. But the others weren’t someone he could trust just yet to fully divulge everything
about himself.
The woman nodded for a long moment before sighing. “Well, I have no excuse to continue sneaking in here anymore. I got what I wanted,” she said. “And I was just starting to have fun too.”
She turned toward Alex. “Well, come to our palace when you have the chance. My sister and I will host you. And feel free to ask me anything
you want. If I can help you, I will.”
Alex thought for a moment, thinking of what he wanted. An answer came to him almost immediately.
“If it doesn’t offend you, Matriarch, then I do have somewhat of a serious request. Could you hear me?”
